Strengthening Global Partnerships Through Nursing Research
The Angeles University Foundation – College of Nursing (AUF-CON) had the distinct privilege of hosting two esteemed professors and research collaborators from the National University of Singapore—Prof. Dr. Piyanee Yobas and Prof. Dr. Mary Jeanette J. Ignacio—for a series of academic engagements that further strengthened the long-standing friendship and scholarly partnership between our institutions.
The visit, held July 28-31, 2026, featured faculty seminars, scholarly discussions, structured mindfulness sessions for nursing students, and collaborative meetings focused on the ongoing international research project, "Mindfulness Interventions for Enhancing Psychological Well-being among Nursing Students at Angeles University Foundation, Philippines: Transforming Evidence to Education and Practice." The project aims to generate evidence-based mindfulness interventions that enhance the psychological well-being, resilience, and socio-emotional learning of nursing students while translating research findings into educational and clinical practice.
Beyond the exchange of research expertise, the visit celebrated years of mutual trust, collaboration, and friendship between AUF and NUS. What began as a research partnership has grown into a meaningful academic relationship founded on a shared vision of advancing nursing science, fostering innovation, and preparing future nurse leaders through international collaboration.
The AUF College of Nursing extends its heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Yobas and Prof. Ignacio for their invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to this collaborative endeavor. We look forward to many more years of working together as partners and friends in advancing nursing research beyond borders.
