From Second Chances to Real Change: CCJEF Brings Skills, Support, and Hope to RRCY Region 3

CCJEF deepened its connection with its adopted community, the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) Region 3, through a community extension service held on April 22, 2026. The activity focused on helping residents build life skills and develop a stronger sense of social responsibility. More than just a program, it created a space where people could learn, connect, and feel that real change is within reach.

Mr. Philip Lucas, from the CMO, led the session and kept it engaging and easy to relate to. He talked about discipline, accountability, and making better day-to-day choices—breaking these ideas down in a way that felt practical and doable. His message wasn’t just something to listen to; it was something participants could actually apply in their own lives.

The day went beyond discussions. CCJEF also held a gift-giving activity that brought genuine smiles to the residents. Sacks of rice were distributed to help with daily needs, while a set of lyres opened the door for creativity, self-expression, and even bonding through music.

To keep the energy up, CCJEF students organized parlor games that filled the space with laughter and friendly competition. It gave everyone a chance to relax, interact, and enjoy the moment. The event wrapped up with shared meals, making the gathering warm and meaningful for everyone involved.

CCJEF continues to stand by RRCY Region 3 with a clear goal: to support growth, rebuild confidence, and help residents find their way back into society. This activity showed that even simple efforts, when done with sincerity, can make a lasting impact.

For the residents, it wasn’t just another scheduled event; it felt like being acknowledged, supported, and reminded that moving forward is always possible.

CCJEF Recognizes Newly Registered Criminologists

Licensed and Locked in CCJEF’s New Criminologists are here!

The College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) transformed a simple gathering into a meaningful celebration of achievement by hosting a Testimonial Luncheon for its newly registered criminologists from the August 2025 and February 2026 Board Licensure Examination for Criminologists. The event brought together board passers, faculty, alumni, and proud families in one shared moment of recognition.

More than applause filled the room. The program reflected years of discipline, sleepless nights, and quiet sacrifices, finally coming full circle.

Fresh from their licensure success, the new criminologists received formal recognition as they stepped into the profession, ready to serve in law enforcement, public safety, and the broader criminal justice system. Faculty members and mentors watched with pride, each name called marking a journey shaped by perseverance and hard work.

The occasion became even more meaningful with a special recognition for Atty. Desika Mundia, a BS Criminology alumna from Batch 2017, recently passed the September 2025 Bar Examination. Her journey—from criminology student to lawyer—captured the evolving paths available to CCJEF graduates and underscored the value of continuous growth.

In her message, Atty. Mundia spoke about resilience and reinvention, urging the new criminologists to remain open to opportunities beyond their initial career paths. “Your degree is your foundation, but your purpose will define where you go next,” she shared, leaving a strong impression on the audience.

The luncheon brought together two defining milestones: the start of new professional journeys and the fulfillment of long-term aspirations. It reaffirmed CCJEF’s commitment to developing competent, ethical, and adaptable professionals who make a real impact in the justice system.

CCJEF Brings Leaders Together to Redefine the Future of Criminal Justice Education

Strategy met purpose as the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) convened its 13th Program Advisory Council Meeting last April 21, 2026, gathering key stakeholders to strengthen the criminal justice education at Holy Angel University.

The meeting served as a platform for aligning CCJEF’s academic programs with the evolving demands of the justice system. Representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), partner agencies, industry experts, alumni, parents, students, and faculty engaged in meaningful discussions focused on strengthening curriculum relevance, enhancing training opportunities, and ensuring graduates remain competitive in both local and global contexts.

The goal was clear: produce graduates who are job-ready, ethical, and equipped with the right skills and technology. The council reviewed program outcomes attainment, assessed current strategies, and proposed updates that reflect emerging trends in forensic science and criminal justice.

The council also emphasized the importance of embedding ethical standards and innovation into every level of training, ensuring that CCJEF graduates are not only skilled but also principled contributors to the justice system.

The PAC meeting also reinforced CCJEF’s strong network of partners, whose continued support is critical to bridging academic instruction with real-world application. Through these collaborations, students gain access to relevant exposure and specialized training that extends beyond the classroom.

More than a routine consultation, the 13th PAC Meeting served as a strategic checkpoint, ensuring CCJEF remains responsive, future-focused, and aligned with its mission of advancing justice through education.

In the end, one message stood out: the future of criminal justice education depends on collaboration, adaptability, and a balance of science and service.
