This week’s maxim, 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐱 𝐒𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐱, translating from Latin to “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐰,” emphasizes that the law must be followed and applied consistently, even when its result may seem strict or unfair. 🤔

🧠 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙆 𝙊𝙁 𝙄𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙎 𝙒𝘼𝙔: You may disagree with a law or feel that its application is unfair, but personal opinions or circumstances cannot simply override a clear legal rule. The law applies regardless of whether we agree with its outcome.

Sometimes, the law may not give us the answer we want. But that doesn’t make its rules optional. 🔒

As the 1st Semester of the Academic Year 2026–2027 progresses, the University Senate continues to firmly uphold its mandate in ensuring that progress is made through bills that were introduced and those yet to be introduced, not through quantity alone, but through the quality and significance of the difference they make for the betterment of the students.

With this, the University Senate officially releases its Priority Bills for the Academic Year 2026–2027 and invites the Angelite community to know these proposals, ask questions, share their perspectives, and hold their student leaders accountable.
