Initially aspiring to pursue AB Mass Communication, Dr. Joseph T. Lobo chose to embrace an opportunity that led him to discover a deeper passion for sports, education, and human development.
He earned his Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health in 2015 and passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers the same year.
Demonstrating his strong commitment to professional growth, he completed his Master of Arts in Physical Education and Sports in 2022 at HAU.
During his college years, he remained active beyond academics. In 2012, he became the founding president of the Human Kinetics Organization for MAPEH majors. He later served as Councilor for Performing Arts of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASEd) in 2013, and in 2014, he was appointed Senator of the University Student Council (USC).
Reflecting on these experiences, he shared, “These leadership roles, combined with my academic training and active participation in events, shaped my resilience, time management, and passion for service which remain central to my work today.”
At present, he serves as Assistant Professor IV and Research Coordinator at the College of Sports, Exercise, and Recreation of Bulacan State University. He is also the Head of University Research Journal Publications at the Research and Innovation Office (RIO) and an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of the same institution.
He is also currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Sidhaya: The Official Research Journal Publication of Bulacan State University.
Beyond his institutional responsibilities, he regularly delivers lectures and training sessions on research in Physical Education and Sports Education in various state universities, colleges, and private higher education institutions nationwide.
In 2025, he earned his Doctor of Education in Physical Education from Filamer Christian University, further strengthening his academic and professional credentials.
He holds key leadership roles in several national organizations: Chairman of the National Association for Physical Education and Sports Science of the Philippines, Inc. (NAPESS-PH); Vice Chairman of the Philippine Association of Researchers in Physical Education and Human Movement (PARPEHM); and Vice President for Luzon of the Culture, Arts and Design Association of the Philippines, Inc. He is also a regular member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), Division VIII – Social Sciences.
As an educator, he offers this advice to students, “What will truly take you far is your willingness to show up, put in the effort, and learn from every experience, whether it is a win or a failure.”
