Curiosity about computers and emerging technology eventually grew into a passion that shaped Paul Michael Pangan's career. As technology rapidly evolved, he became fascinated with how computers work and was eager to understand the systems behind the devices people use every day.

His journey, however, was not without challenges. Learning programming for the first time proved to be one of the most demanding aspects of his college life, requiring countless hours of practice, perseverance, and determination.

Despite the difficulties, he remained committed to learning and credits his professors for patiently guiding him every step of the way. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Holy Angel University in 2019.

"My time at Holy Angel University was a meaningful and transformative chapter of my life, where I experienced both personal and academic growth," he shared.

The values, discipline, and technical foundation he gained at HAU prepared him to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry. Armed with the knowledge and experiences he acquired in the classroom, he confidently embarked on a career that allowed him to turn his passion for technology into meaningful work.

Today, he is a Software Engineer at Performance Software Philippines Corporation in Berthaphil III, Clark.

In his role, he develops and tests embedded systems by writing high- and low-level software requirements, creating test procedures, and performing comprehensive software testing to verify system features and ensure compliance with DO-178 standards.

The position continues to broaden his expertise, particularly in understanding the complete software development life cycle, while allowing him to contribute to the development of reliable and safety-critical software solutions.

Reflecting on his journey, he offered this advice to students, "You may not always know what the future holds, but have faith, trust in God's plan, and be patient with His timing. The world beyond school can be challenging and less forgiving, but I am confident that HAU will equip you with the skills, discipline, and mindset needed to succeed."

Initially interested in Psychology due to his curiosity about human behavior, Tey Suarez III eventually chose to pursue Human Resource Development Management for practical reasons, including the need to immediately enter the workforce and support his family.

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Human Resource Development Management, in 2018.

During his college years, he was a Performing Arts Scholar from first year to fourth year. He balanced a demanding schedule, attending morning classes, performing at various events in the afternoon, and training until midnight with the Sinukwan Kapampangan Training Center for the Arts.

“Holy Angel University has played a significant role in shaping me into the best version of myself. It honed my skills, strengthened my work ethic, and instilled the discipline and values that guide my professional growth. The experiences and learning environment at HAU prepared me to excel in my career and continuously strive for excellence,” he shared.

These formative experiences at HAU eventually paved the way for his professional journey after graduation.

Presently, he is the Human Resources and Customer Success Manager at AlphaHire Private Limited, where he applies his expertise in talent acquisition, coordination, and client management in a fast-paced professional environment.

Despite his career success, he remains deeply committed to giving back to the community as an active supporter of the Bale Balayan Museum for the Poor. He continues to take part in outreach initiatives and advocacy efforts, reflecting his enduring dedication to service beyond his professional achievements.

Reflecting on his journey, he encourages students, “Never doubt yourself. Always believe that your dreams are meant to come true, as long as you continue to work hard and stay committed to your goals.”

The High School Batch 1973 "D' Survivors" gathered for a reunion on June 13 at Casa Nena, STL Building.

The activity began with a campus tour, including a visit to the History Room, where the alumni had the opportunity to see their names and revisit their memories at the University. As part of their fellowship, one of the batchmates provided free reading glasses to fellow alumni.

The reunion served as a meaningful occasion for reconnecting with batchmates, and strengthening their enduring bond.

From telling stories that mattered to creating new opportunities, Marie Toni Z. Aguilar built a career shaped by adaptability, resilience, and purpose.

Inspired to pursue a field that aligned with both her interests and practical career goals, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Communication major in Broadcast Journalism in 2011.

More than just a university, her time at HAU was deeply personal as it became part of her family's story as generations of her family once walked the same halls. In many ways, she knew that HAU was where her dreams quietly took root and began to grow.

“HAU gave me something more important than a fixed plan. It gave me the ability to adapt because life after school doesn’t come with a script,” she shared.

After graduation, she entered the fast-paced world of journalism and began her career as a Newsdesk Administrator at GMA Network, Inc., where she was exposed to real-world stories and experiences that shaped her professional growth.

After years of telling real-world stories, she now helps create opportunities as the Associate Director for Business Development at Asia Select, Inc. in Makati City. In her role, she works in recruitment and business development and partners with companies to help build strong, high-performing teams.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is also a dedicated single mother who remains actively involved in outreach initiatives in partnership with ChildHope Philippines. Through these efforts, she helps support street children by providing access to education, basic needs, and safe spaces.

Reflecting on her experiences, she shared to students, “Focus on building discipline, resilience, and character because one day, life will test you and when it does, those are the things that will carry you through. And remember where you start will never define how far you can go.”

Driven by his passion for technology and his desire to teach, Felipe San Juan De Leon found his calling in a career where he could use his computing and technical skills while guiding and inspiring young people.

After completing his Associate degree in Computer Programming, he realized that technical knowledge alone was not enough. This realization led him to pursue a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Computer Education, which he completed in 2005.

“Holy Angel University was a place of growth, struggle, and transformation for me,” he shared.

His college years were marked by determination and sacrifice. During his first term, he worked in a fast-food restaurant to earn money for his enrollment after his father became ill and had to return home from working abroad.

Despite financial challenges, he persevered and eventually earned a scholarship as a working student from his first to third year. He rendered service in the Engineering Laboratory, Registrar’s Office, and University Library.

Today, he serves as a PYP (Primary Years Programme) ICT Teacher and Head of Robotics at Dubai International Academy in Emirates Hills, United Arab Emirates. In his role, he designs and delivers technology-integrated lessons that develop students’ digital literacy, computational thinking, and responsible use of technology.

He also leads the school’s robotics program, coaching students in coding, engineering design, and problem-solving while mentoring teams in international competitions.

His dedication and excellence in education earned him the distinction of becoming one of the first Filipino educators to receive the UAE Golden Visa for Distinguished Educator, a recognition highlighting both his professional achievements and his unwavering commitment to shaping young minds through technology and innovation.

Over the years, he has received several honors, including the Best Teacher of the Year Award at Philippine School Dubai and the Promoting STEAM and Innovation Award at DIA.

Continuing his pursuit of professional growth, he successfully completed the UK National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT) in 2024. He is also currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Educational Management at HAU, a testament to his commitment to lifelong learning and educational leadership.

Reflecting on his journey, he advised students, “Value your education, but more importantly, value the process of becoming. Sometimes you will face financial struggles, family responsibilities, disappointments, or moments of self-doubt, but these challenges are not obstacles to your growth; they are part of your formation.”

The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Richard Montaner, followed by a motorcade.

The celebration continued with a program of shared memories as the batch reconnected and celebrated their four-decade journey.

For Carlo Jerome Pulanco, the journey into Psychology was not just an academic pursuit, it was a gradual transformation that reshaped his perspective on life and the world around him. What began as a step-by-step realization eventually became a lifelong commitment to understanding human behavior and inspiring others to do the same.

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2019 and successfully passed the Psychometrician Licensure Examination. These milestones marked the beginning of a meaningful career dedicated to education and service.

During his college years, he immersed himself in both academic and personal growth, embracing the challenges and discoveries that came with studying Psychology. These experiences not only strengthened his knowledge but also shaped his values, discipline, and sense of purpose, laying the foundation for the path he would pursue after graduation.

Today, he serves as a full-time Instructor IV at the National Teachers College, where he teaches Psychology subjects. He also shares his expertise as a part-time Instructor I at National University - Clark, handling Social Sciences courses.

Beyond the classroom, he remains actively engaged in advocacies that reflect his values and principles. He is a member of the Student Christian Movement of the Philippines, a human rights and national democratic movement organization, as well as Amnesty International Philippines, a non-government organization that champions human rights. His involvement in these groups highlights his commitment to social awareness and civic responsibility.

Driven by his passion for continuous learning, Carlo is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology.

Through his academic achievements, professional endeavors, and advocacy work, he continues to exemplify how education, when paired with purpose, can truly expand one’s horizons and create meaningful impact.

Reflecting on his journey, Carlo shares a message to students, “Find your inner passion by putting into heart the words and lessons of your professors and peers in college. It will help you a lot once you step into the next chapter of your life.”

The High School Batch 2006 “Hiraya” celebrated its 20th anniversary with a reunion held on April 11 at Plaza San Jose.

The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by University Chaplain Rev. Fr. Omar Niño Defensor at the Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angel.

During the event, the batch officers were formally inducted by Holy Angel University Alumni Association, Inc. (HAUAAI) President Michael Escalante.

The gathering was also graced by their former teachers and their principal, Dr. Maria Doris Bacamante, making the celebration more meaningful for the alumni.
