September is here!
๐๐๐ฅ ๐ ๐ข๐ก๐ง๐๐ฆ ๐ก๐! ๐๐ต๐ญ
The most wonderful time of the year is here! As we welcome September, the first of the much-awaited โberโ months, the Philippines officially begins its four-month countdown to Christmas. But beyond the holiday spirit, September also highlights several meaningful national celebrations and observances that promote awareness, service, culture, and community.
The month celebrates ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐น๐๐ฏ ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต, through Presidential Proclamation No. 264, s. 2002, encouraging appreciation for science and its role in innovation and everyday life. It also marks ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฝ ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต, established through Presidential Proclamation No. 244, s. 1993, which calls attention to the importance of protecting our seas and coastal communities. Meanwhile, ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐น ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต, under Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, s. 1997, recognizes the dedication and contributions of public servants.
September also places emphasis on peace, safety, and national awareness. ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ผ๐๐๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต promotes a culture of peace and understanding, while ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ช๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ encourages communities to work together in creating safer places. Beyond these advocacies, September celebrates the people and institutions that strengthen Filipino communities. ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐โ ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต, observed from September 5 to October 5, honors the dedication of educators. ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ ๐ช๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ and ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ encourage families to reconnect, share meaningful moments, and strengthen their bonds. ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต likewise highlights the importance of programs that help protect and support vulnerable members of society.
