Nine (9) campus leaders from STI West Negros University (STIWNU) have qualified for this yearโs Regional +iMPACT Leadership Academy for Civic Empowerment (iLACE), as announced on July 28.
Out of more than 540 applicants from across the Philippines, only 150 students were selected following a rigorous application review that assessed their civic leadership, community engagement, and overall qualifications.
Representing various academic programs, the qualifiers include fourth-year BS Psychology (BSPSYCH) students Gilberto Genit and Kent Sander Tsushima; third-year BS Psych students Aaron Per Miranda and Patricia Granzon; Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BACOMM) students Khesly Ann Plomeda, a third-year student, and Jerick Sumpay, a second-year student; Karl Ace Tolentino, a fourth-year Bachelor of Elementary Education major in General Education (BEED-GenEd ) student; Lovely Joy Pabiania, a fourth-year Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED) student; and Gian Lawrence Ulgasan, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) student.
The selected students will take part in a series of regional online learning sessions before advancing to the national stage, where only 90 participants from the regional qualifiers will be chosen to collaborate with fellow youth leaders in developing and implementing community-based initiatives.
