𝙀𝘿𝙎𝘼 @ 40 ✊🏼

Matapos ang apat na pung taon mula noong Pebrero 22 - 25, 1986, muling pinaaalala sa atin na ang people power ay hindi lamang isang kapiraso ng ating kasaysayan kundi isang kolektibong panawagan para sa pananagutan, katarungang panlipunan, at demokrasya na tunay na naglilingkod sa interes ng taumbayan.

Ngayon, habang patuloy na humaharap ang bayan sa korapsyon, paglalim ng hindi pagkakapantay-pantay, at tuwirang paglalapastangan sa demokrasya, nagiging malinaw na kailangang buhayin ang diwa ng EDSA I. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁. Kapag ang tiwala ay pinagtaksilan sa pamamagitan ng pag-abuso sa kapangyarihan, ma-anumalyang paggasta ng pera ng taumbayan, at pagkaka-ukit ng mga dinastiya sa mga institusyon, ang bigat ay hindi pasan ng mga naghaharing-uri, ito ay pasan ng mga manggagawa, estudyante, magsasaka, at lahat ng mga uring inaapi at pinagsasamantalahan. Pinatutunayan nito na ang demokrasyang walang pananagutan ay nagiging hungkag, walang laman at saysay, at ang pag-unlad na walang hustisya ay hindi nararamdaman ng taumbayan.

Ang pag-aalala ay dapat sinasamahan ng pamamatyag at pagkilos. 𝗟𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝘁, 𝗱𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘁. Ang pananagutan ay hindi dapat pumipili ng panig, ito ay dapat hinihingi sa lahat ng angkan at lebel ng kapangyarihan. Gayundin ang kahalagahan ng discernment. Pinaaalala satin ng kasaysayan na maging mapanuri sa mga pulitikong nagbabalat-kayo, nagkukunwaring tagapagtanggol ng bayan ngunit may sariling madilim na kasaysayan, mga tinatagong interes, at mga ugnayang sumisira sa integridad ng mga institusyon. Hindi mapapalitan ng mga 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗴𝗶 𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗺 ang tunay at kongkretong reporma.

Kami sa 𝐀𝐃𝐈, ay tumitindig upang ipagpatuloy ang mga pangakong hindi pa ganap na naipatupad ng EDSA I. Isang tunay na demokrasya na hindi lamang nakikita sa pagkakaroon ng regular na halalan ngunit sa holistikong pananaw.
