On August 12, the College of Nursing joined the relief efforts of the Community Extension Services (CES), under the leadership of its Coordinator, Ms. Maria Veronica C. Doceo, to extend support to communities and individuals affected by the heavy rains and flooding brought by the Habagat.

Through the collective efforts and contributions of the College of Nursing community, we hope to provide much-needed assistance and support to those in need. Every donation, big or small, can make a meaningful difference.

We sincerely thank all students and faculty members for their generous contributions and support.

The first day of the seminar commenced with the opening message delivered by Mr. Kennedy C. Bangan, highlighting the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in strengthening the Philippine community health.

This was followed by the start of the seminar proper by our faculty speakers Ms. Abigail B. Geronimo on Philippine Family Planning Program, Ms. Veronica Brigitte G. Cruz on National Safe Motherhood Program, Ms. Maricar M. Natividad on Essential Intrapartum and Newborn Care (EINC), Ms. Kaye Shaneen Maniczic on Newborn Screening, and Mr. Julito J. Justol and Ms. Marie Grace Pardillo on the National Immunization Program (NIP).

The second day of the seminar proper was opened by Ms. Maria Grace Pardillo, followed by the presentation of our faculty speakers, Ms. Maria Veronica C. Doceo on the Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP), Mr. Don Christian Denver Panti on the Nutrition Program, Mr. Manuel P. Lopez on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), and Ms. Norbeth Acaba on BEmONC and CEmONC.

The 2-day academic seminar concluded with our Level 2 students gaining essential knowledge to prepare them for their upcoming clinical duties. The seminar highlighted their future roles in strengthening community health through the Department of Health (DOH) programs. โœจ๐Ÿ’š
