The BSIT 2 and BLIS 2 students successfully implemented their Service Learning Program under GE ELEC 1 – People and the Earth's Ecosystem, under the guidance of their instructor, Sir Frederic Tomas, at Barsat East Elementary School, engaging Grade 5 and Grade 6 pupils in a meaningful and enjoyable environmental learning experience.

With the theme “Young Eco Champions: Empowering Young Minds Through Environmental Stewardship and Action,” the activity aimed to raise environmental awareness and encourage young learners to become responsible stewards of our planet. 🌏

The pupils actively participated in a variety of fun games, informative lectures, and interactive learning activities that emphasized the importance of protecting and preserving the environment. The program was made even more lively through a special intermission number presented by the BSIT 2 students, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm. The activity also concluded with the distribution of snacks, adding joy to this memorable experience.

More than just a learning activity, this initiative demonstrated the importance of community engagement, environmental responsibility, and service through education. By empowering young minds today, we help nurture a generation that values nature and takes action toward a greener and more sustainable future. 🌱

Congratulations to our BSIT 2 and BLIS 2 students for the successful implementation of this meaningful service-learning initiative!

Together, let us inspire young eco champions to care for our planet-because every small action can make a big difference! 🌎

The College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS) of Saint Joseph College of Baggao successfully conducted its Curriculum Review for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Science in Library and Information Science (BLIS) programs on October 2, 2026.

The activity brought together partners from the academe and industry, who generously shared their insights, expertise, experiences, and recommendations on how the programs can continuously respond to the evolving needs of higher education, the information technology sector, and the professional workplace.

As part of the curriculum review, the CICS Dean presented the proposed revised curriculum, highlighting the integration of the new subject codes for General Education (Gen Ed) courses within the BSIT program. Meanwhile, the industry partner presented valuable recommendations on current trends and emerging demands in the BSIT field.

The participation of our academic and industry partners provided meaningful perspectives in reviewing the existing curriculum. Their shared knowledge and professional experiences served as valuable inputs in identifying areas for improvement, enhancement, and possible curriculum integration.

This collaboration reflects CICS's commitment to developing programs that are responsive, relevant, innovative, and aligned with the needs of students, the community, and the industry.

A significant outcome of the curriculum review was the decision of the Vice President for Academics to conduct a thorough review of the syllabi before the beginning of the Second Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027. This step will allow the faculty and academic leadership to carefully evaluate the proposed changes, incorporate appropriate recommendations from the academe and industry.

The CICS expresses its sincere appreciation to the academic partners, industry partners, administrators, faculty members, and everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and valuable insights to this important academic initiative.

Together, we continue to build programs that prepare our students for a future-ready, technology-driven, and globally competitive professional environment.

In celebration of the Month of the Holy Rosary, the Student Leaders of the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS), came together to decorate and create a Marian Altar-a simple yet meaningful space dedicated to prayer, reflection, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Through this initiative, our student leaders remind the CICS community that amidst our academic responsibilities and daily activities, there is always time to pause, pray, and strengthen our faith. 🙏

May this Marian Altar serve as an invitation for everyone to spend a moment in prayer, offer intentions, and seek the guidance and intercession of Our Blessed Mother through the Holy Rosary.

🌹 Let us make time for prayer.
📿 Let us pray the Holy Rosary.
🙏 Let us deepen our devotion to Mary and draw closer to Jesus.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary continue to guide, protect, and inspire the CICS community.

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, pray for us.
Amen. 🙏🌹
