With the Theme: “Navigating Our Future Together”

📜: On August 10–11, 2026, La Liga Historiadores, together with other clubs and students, actively participated in the celebration of ASEAN 2026, with the theme “Navigating Our Future Together.”

Officers and History students came together to represent their assigned countries by showcasing their culture, history, creativity, and traditions. Through their collective efforts, they brought the identity of each country to life and made the celebration more vibrant, meaningful, and harmonious.

The three countries assigned to La Liga Historiadores were the Philippines, Thailand, and Myanmar. 🇵🇭🇹🇭🇲🇲

✨ DAY 1 | OPENING & RUNWAY COMPETITION

The first day marked the opening of ASEAN 2026, where each club, together with other students, actively participated in representing their assigned countries.

The celebration continued with the much-anticipated Runway Competition, where representatives proudly showcased the culture and identity of their respective countries.

The Runway Competition was judged by Dr. Rosemarie L. Lagunday, Dr. Tungcua, Ma’am Zena Mate, and Ma’am Lucille Del Castillo.

Congratulations to Mr. Eddie Vargas and Ms. Claren Javiero from AB History, who proudly represented Thailand and won Best in Runway! 🇹🇭🏆

Likewise, congratulations to Mr. Lance Howard Aldueso and Ms. Kaye Peregrino from AB History, who proudly represented the Philippines and also won Best in Runway! 🇵🇭🏆

Following the runway presentation, the Quiz Bee commenced, where Mr. Rayver Dane C. Dueñas emerged as the winner!🏆

Another remarkable achievement for La Liga Historiadores! To all our representatives and participants, please know that your La Liga Historiadores family is incredibly proud of you. 🤎💛

✨ DAY 2 | COUNTRY EXHIBIT

The second and final day featured the Country Exhibit, where each participating group proudly presented the significance, culture, history, and traditions of their respective countries.

From sharing historical stories and cultural practices to showcasing famous dishes, the exhibits provided everyone with an opportunity to learn more about the unique identity of each nation.

We would also like to recognize the presence of our beloved City Mayor, Hon. Mayette Javellana-Yao, for visiting and engaging with the different exhibits during the celebration of ASEAN 2026. Your presence truly meant a lot to us, Mayora!🧡

Before the celebration came to an end, one of the most anticipated moments was the judging of the country exhibits, led by Dr. Rowena Bañes, who actively engaged with the curators and listened to the stories and explanations behind each exhibit.

We are proud to announce that La Liga Historiadores received the award for BEST IN CURATOR! 🏆✨

This achievement reflects the hard work, creativity, teamwork, and dedication of everyone who contributed to the exhibit.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone behind the success of this meaningful event.

To our advisers, thank you for your guidance, patience, and support in helping us make this event meaningful and memorable.

To all the students, especially our fellow History students, thank you for your dedication, cooperation, and willingness to lend a helping hand. We truly appreciate every effort and contribution you have made.

And to our La Liga Historiadores officers, despite the challenges we encountered behind the scenes, we continued to work together, support one another, and give our best to make ASEAN 2026 a memorable and enjoyable experience.

At the end of the day, all our hard work and sacrifices paid off. This experience reminded us that with teamwork, dedication, and a shared purpose, we can accomplish something meaningful together. Here’s to more events, achievements, and memories to come!

📜 On August 7, 2026, became a memorable and exciting day for La Liga Historiadores as its officers started early to prepare and creatively design their booth for Pag Abi-Abi: Freshmen Week 2026. Through teamwork, creativity, and dedication, the officers transformed their booth into a historical space where students could experience the beauty and richness of the past. Every decoration, display, and detail was carefully arranged to create a meaningful and enjoyable experience for everyone who visited.

From morning until afternoon, history students excitedly visited the booth to sign their attendance, meet the officers, and explore the different historical displays prepared for them. The booth became a place filled with stories, learning, and appreciation for history. Adding more excitement to the experience, the officers also offered traditional Filipino delicacies that students happily bought and enjoyed. These local treats brought a taste of Filipino culture and made the club-hopping experience even more memorable.

Throughout the day, the officers warmly welcomed every visitor and proudly shared their creativity and hard work. The highlight of the event happened in the afternoon during the much-awaited booth judging. Chairperson Mr. Ritchie Cabinbin and Vice Chairperson Ms. Trixie Modejar confidently presented the booth to the judges and explained the meaning behind the different historical objects and displays they prepared.

During their presentation, the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson shared the stories and symbolism behind the featured landmarks connected to Bago City, Negros Occidental. Balay ni Tan Juan represented the rich cultural heritage of Bago City, reminding everyone of the importance of preserving ancestral homes that carry the memories, traditions, and stories of the people who came before us. Balay Dako (Javellana House) showcased the beauty of traditional Filipino architecture and symbolized the craftsmanship, lifestyle, and values of early Bagonhon families. Central Ma-ao represented Bago City's strong agricultural roots, especially the sugar industry that played an important role in the city's growth, economy, and identity as part of Negros Occidental's history.

Aside from Bago City's historical landmarks, the officers also explained the meaning of other objects displayed in the booth that represented different countries and cultures. These elements showed how history connects people from different places and how every tradition, symbol, and artifact carries a story worth remembering. Through these displays, students were able to understand that history is not only about the past but also about the cultures and experiences that continue to shape the world today.

Through the hard work, creativity, and teamwork of every officer, the booth became more than just a display—it became a place where stories, culture, and history came together. Every signature, every conversation, and every shared Filipino delicacy became a meaningful part of the Pag Abi-Abi: Freshmen Week 2026 celebration.

La Liga Historiadores successfully showed that history is not only found in books and museums—it lives through the stories we share, the heritage we protect, and the memories we create together. As young historians, we continue to carry these stories forward and make history come alive for the next generations. 📜✨

𝑫𝑨𝑮𝒀𝑨𝑾 2026: 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒐𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑 🌱🧡

From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the La Liga Historíadores Officers proudly participated in DAGYAW 2026: Bangon Bayan Youth Camp. ✨

It was truly an unforgettable experience filled with learning, leadership, friendship, and personal growth. For three meaningful days, we were challenged to step out of our comfort zones, discover our potential, and strengthen our commitment to serving our communities. Every activity, discussion, and shared experience reminded us that leadership is not about power—it's about service, humility, and making a positive difference.

First of all, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the PYAP (Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines) Negros Occidental staff, organizers, volunteers, and speakers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the LGU of Bago City for your warm hospitality and unwavering support. We truly appreciate your time, effort, and dedication. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experiences, and inspiring words with us. Your lessons will always stay in our hearts and continue to guide us as we grow as young leaders.

Even though this was only a three-day camp, we gained countless valuable lessons. We learned that a true leader serves others with humility, leads with integrity, listens with respect, and inspires with kindness. Every session and activity helped us develop new skills, build our confidence, and prepare ourselves to become better youth leaders. We were also grateful for the opportunity to meet and connect with participants from different LGUs. Through teamwork, friendship, and shared experiences, we created memories that we will treasure forever.

Although the camp has come to an end, we bring home not only unforgettable memories but also valuable lessons that will shape us into better leaders. Thank you, DAGYAW 2026: Bangon Bayan Youth Camp, for giving us the opportunity to learn, grow, and serve. This may be the end of the camp, but it is only the beginning of our journey to becoming responsible, compassionate, inspiring, and dedicated leaders who will continue to make a positive impact in our communities.

Together, we rise. Together, we lead. Together, we serve. 💙💛

¡Feliz cumpleaños, Apolinario Mabini!🎉🤎🇵🇭

📜: Today we remember the “Dakilang Paralitiko” and the "Brains of the Revolution"

Though illness left him unable to walk, Apolinario Mabini never stopped moving the nation forward. From his mat and wheelchair, he became the guiding mind of the Philippine struggle for independence.

As the first Prime Minister of the Philippine Republic and chief adviser to President Emilio Aguinaldo, he gave our young government direction. He wrote the Constitutional Program of the Philippine Republic — a vision for a government founded on justice, education, and the welfare of the people.

Through his writings like El Verdadero Decálogo and La Revolución Filipina, he taught Filipinos that true freedom requires discipline, morality, and love of the country. Even in exile in Guam, he continued to defend the ideals of the revolution with his pen.

Mabini proved that strength is not in the body, but in conviction and intellect. He reminded us that to serve the nation is the highest honor, and that principles should never be compromised.

His courage, wisdom, and sacrifice still shape how we understand patriotism today.

Mabuhay ka, G*t Apolinario Mabini!
Your mind built a nation, and your legacy continues to guide every Filipino.💛🇵🇭

12/07/2026

Today, July 12, 2026, marks the 10th anniversary of the landmark arbitral ruling in the case between the Philippines and China over the South China Sea.

A Day in History: 9th Anniversary of the Philippines' Victory in the West Philippine Sea Dispute

In 1982, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea established the principle that a country's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) extends 200 nautical miles from its shores, giving coastal states the right to explore and exploit natural resources. The Philippines has jurisdiction over the West Philippine Sea based on this treaty.

On July 12, 2016, the Philippines marked a historic milestone after the prolonged discussion of territorial disputes between China and Philippines was given a verdict by the arbitral tribunal constituted under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) as released by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague.

The Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague issued a landmark decision in favor of the Philippines in its case against China over the contested waters of the South China Sea. This decision isn’t just a mere result, but also a symbolic assertion of our country’s adherence to peace, and cordial relationships as part of abiding and respecting the integrity of international laws.

This is a case against a giant was filed in 2013 under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), challenging the validity of China’s expansive “nine-dash line” claim that threatened the Philippines’ access to natural resources and undermined its sovereign maritime rights.

It can be affirmed that the rulings of the international court with regards to the arbitration was fully done through safety measures for both countries, especially to the complainant state—the Philippines. As it is for the international court to maintain the equilibrium especially within the aspects of peace, the partially-considered "long term" declaration of ruling to the People's Republic of China is guaranteed as accurate and just for both states.

This perennial dispute is supposed to end through this decision given by the international court. However, it's evidently seen that China can never battle in a manner that adheres to the principle of International laws—specifically cordial bonds and peace.
