The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Krishyl Blessie C. Decoy, who emerged as 🥇 FIRST PLACE in the Student Category of the 1st Camp John Hay Tour Guiding Competition!

Held in celebration of Tourism Month, the competition brought together student and professional tour guides who showcased their destination knowledge, communication skills, creativity, confidence, and storytelling abilities as they mapped out the history, attractions, and magic of Camp John Hay.

With her passion for tourism and remarkable ability to bring a destination to life through storytelling, Krishnyl rose to the top of the competition and brought home the championship for CHTM! 🎤🌲🏆

Behind this achievement is the guidance and mentorship of Ms. Maria Cristina R. Mirasol, a faculty member of CHTM, who coached and prepared Krishyl for the competition.

For CHTM, this achievement is more than a competition win. It is a reflection of our commitment to excellence in hospitality and tourism education—equipping our students with the knowledge, confidence, creativity, and industry-ready skills needed to become the next generation of tourism professionals and destination storytellers.

A Toast to New Beginnings: Celebrating the Class of 2026! 🥂✨

Years of hard work, late nights, and shared memories have led to this monumental milestone as the University of the Cordilleras College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) formally gathered to honor its graduating students.

Held at the UC Theater, the venue was transformed into an elegant ballroom setting for the "Elegant Gala: A Toast to the Graduates Class of 2026". Complete with formal banquet tables, salmon accents, and glowing golden "2026" displays, the evening served as a tribute to the students' entire academic journey, celebrating how far they have come and the bright futures awaiting them in the hospitality and tourism industry.

While the gala focused on the excitement of upcoming graduation, it also took time to celebrate exceptional student talent with the Gawad Parangal awards . Outstanding graduates were presented with trophies, and certificates of recognition.

To the Class of 2026: May this gala mark not just the end of a memorable chapter at UC CHTM, but the grand beginning of your professional journeys! 🎉🎓

Face-to-face classes at all levels are suspended today, September 10, 2026.

All classes are advised to shift to online instructional modalities to ensure the continuity of learning.

Scheduled college orientations are also postponed. Concerned students are advised to wait for further announcements from their respective Colleges.

Non-teaching personnel shall report for work today under flexible working hours. University offices will remain open to provide essential services and assistance to students, faculty, and other stakeholders.

Everyone is advised to exercise appropriate caution and to remain guided by official university announcements.

ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON SEPTEMBER 10

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 135, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on September 10, 2026, in anticipation of continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the cumulative effects of prolonged rainfall:

📍 Batangas

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management. - PCO
