The training, Aug. 03 and 04, 2026, brought together Baguio Cityโ€™s higher education and innovation community for two days of learning, collaboration, and ecosystem-building.

Participants took part in a series of activities focused on identifying opportunities, understanding the fundamentals of technopreneurship, forming interdisciplinary teams, developing venture proposals, mapping innovation curricula, and matching teams based on complementary skills and interests. The sessions also explored real-world challenges and opportunities that universities, students, researchers, and innovators can help address through the practical use of Design Thinking, prior art searches, pretotyping, value proposition development, problemโ€“solution fit assessment, and low-fidelity minimum viable products. Through presentations and peer-panel discussions, participants examined their assumptions, shared constructive insights, and improved their proposed solutions to make them more relevant, feasible, and responsive to the needs of stakeholders.

Faculty members from the Saint Louis University Civil and Geodetic Engineering Department participated in the Department of the Interior and Local Government - Cordillera Administrative Regionโ€™s Local Infrastructure Learning Hub (LILHub) - Training of Trainers for the Infrastructure Audit, held from July 27 to 30, 2026.

The four-day capacity-building activity gathered representatives of LILHub partner institutions and personnel from the DILG Project Development and Management Unit to strengthen their knowledge and technical competencies in conducting infrastructure audits and promoting disaster-resilient local governance.

The Training of Trainers seeks to develop a pool of competent trainers who can effectively cascade the Infrastructure Audit Tool to Local Government Units. Through this initiative, DILG-CAR, together with its LILHub partners, continues to advance the safety, resilience, and sustainability of public infrastructure and contribute to the development of disaster-ready communities throughout the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The SLU CE-GE Department proudly supports initiatives that strengthen professional expertise, public service, and collaboration toward safer and more resilient communities.
