ANNOUNCEMENT! 📢📢

The Committee on Elections formally announces that all grievance complaints filed during the have been resolved by the University Electoral Tribunal (UET). The resolutions have likewise been communicated by COMELEC via email, and the recommendations noted in the Committee’s final report.

The committee recognizes the crucial role that the USC fulfills as an institution representing the interests of the student body. We likewise apologize that these final deliberations on grievances have inordinately stalled the proclamation of the new USC. Nevertheless, the committee maintains that it must follow procedural rules meant to ensure the fairness and integrity of the election process.

We are thankful to the incumbent and incoming USC’s grace and patience during this transition process. We hope for the student body’s understanding regarding this matter and assure the UP Baguio community that the Committee is doing everything in its capacity to ensure a just transition from the incumbent USC to the next. The COMELEC also commits to a full proclamation of the next UPB USC later tonight.

The UP Baguio Committee on Elections (UPB COMELEC) apologizes for the delays surrounding the proclamation and oath-taking of the winning candidates for the 2026 University Student Council Elections.

All grievances submitted during the protest periods (April 9-13 and May 19-22) were forwarded to the University Electoral Tribunal (UET) for proper adjudication. While many concerns have been addressed, as of writing, there are still ongoing deliberations. COMELEC cannot yet proceed until the resolution of these matters ahead of the formal proclamation and assumption of office of the elected candidates. Pending their decisions, the Oath-Taking Ceremony will be moved indefinitely, and a partial proclamation will be announced soon.

The COMELEC encourages patience at this time, and enjoins all candidates, political organizations, and members of the student body to respect the ongoing process and to await official announcements through COMELEC channels.

Thank you for your understanding.
