The Faculty of the Data Center College of the Philippines – Baguio City embarked on an enriching educational tour in Thailand, gaining firsthand insights into the country's rich cultural heritage and outstanding tourism management practices.

As part of the tour, the faculty visited the **Sanctuary of Truth**, a remarkable example of Thailand's heritage tourism that reflects the nation's dedication to preserving its history, craftsmanship, and cultural identity. They also explored the **Nong Nooch Tropical Garden**, renowned for its world-class floral displays, exceptional landscaping, and commitment to heritage and environmental conservation.

The educational journey also included a visit to **Khao Chi Chan (Buddha Mountain)**, one of Thailand's most iconic cultural landmarks. Featuring a magnificent laser-engraved image of the Buddha carved into a limestone mountain, the site symbolizes peace, faith, and the country's deep-rooted Buddhist heritage.

The learning experience continued at the **Bannthai Food Museum**, where the faculty had the opportunity to discover and taste **11 traditional Thai dishes**, providing a deeper appreciation of Thailand's culinary heritage and the role of food in preserving culture. The faculty also experienced Thailand's vibrant **street food culture**, exploring the diverse flavors and local delicacies that have made Thai cuisine internationally renowned while showcasing the country's rich culinary traditions and community lifestyle.

Through these visits, the faculty witnessed how Thailand successfully manages, promotes, and preserves its tourism destinations while maintaining its cultural authenticity. This educational journey provided valuable knowledge and inspiration that can contribute to the continuous development of tourism education and sustainable tourism practices.

The HM/TESDA Department faculty of Data Center College of the Philippines proudly participated in the Thai Cuisine Training held in Thailand this July 17-20, 2026.

This enriching experience allowed our faculty to enhance their knowledge and skills in authentic Thai cuisine while learning traditional cooking techniques from experienced chefs. We were also honored to meet and connect with fellow educators and culinary professionals from different countries, fostering cultural exchange and international friendships.

As part of the training, we had the opportunity to visit a local Thai market, where we explored a wide variety of fresh herbs, spices, vegetables, seafood, and other local ingredients. This hands-on experience gave us a deeper appreciation of Thailand's rich culinary culture and the importance of selecting fresh, high-quality ingredients in Thai cooking.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to *Chef Patty* for your expertise, guidance, and dedication throughout the training. Thank you for making this learning journey both meaningful and inspiring.

Thank you, Thailand, for the warm hospitality, unforgettable experiences, and valuable lessons that we will bring back to our classrooms and share with our students.

Together, we continue to learn, grow, and strive for excellence in hospitality and culinary education.
