Last July 27, 2022, Filipinos in the Northern Luzon were shaken by a 7.0 magnitude Earthquake.
According to the NDRRMC, as of July 31, 2022, 82,336 families, or 314,161 people, were affected by the tremor's effects over 996 barangays. Of this total, 1,113 families or 3,891 individuals remained in evacuation shelters, with the remaining choosing to either go home or stay with relatives.
The number of fatalities brought by the earthquake is now raised to 10 individuals from Bangued and Luba in Abra; La Trinidad and Tuba in Benguet; Balbalan, Kalinga, and Bauko in Mountain Province. Meanwhile, 375 individuals sustained injuries from the incident.
From this incident, it is important for us to recall information about earthquakes. What should we do before, during, and after this disaster? How can we help our fellow Filipinos affected by this disaster?
Green Core Society, in partnership with KASIYANA: Youth in Action, asks for your support to help the earthquake-affected communities in Northern Luzon.
In times of crisis, we still have each other. Let us all help our family and friends in the affected areas of Northern Luzon. Stay safe and be alert!
