University of the Cordilleras The official page of the University of the Cordilleras, Baguio City. UC has 50 academic program offerings accredited by PAASCU and PACUCOA.

The University of the Cordilleras is a premier Higher Education Institution in the Philippines. UC is awarded by CHED with Autonomous Status (since 2010), University Status (since 2003), and Centers of Excellence (since 2006). It is an identified Delivering HEI for Faculty Development, S&T and SIKAP Scholarships, and recipient of Research and Creative Project Grants. The University is a recognized DOST partner for Innovative and Techno Business Projects, accredited HEI for Science Education Institute Programs, and qualified Niche Center in the Regions for R&D in Mountain Engineering. UC is certified with ISO 9001: 2015.

Strengthening its commitment to international research and academic collaboration, the University of the Cordilleras (UC) hosts the first official Philippine visit of the Digital Transformation for Natural Hazards (DIGIHAZ) consortium from October 19 to 23, 2026, for the Evaluation and Project Management Proposal Workshop. The event aims to strengthen international partnerships in higher education and research while advancing digital innovation for natural hazard preparedness and risk reduction.

As a consortium member, UC contributes to the projectโ€™s goal by offering a Doctor of Information program specializing in Geomatics for Natural Hazards, supporting the development of researchers equipped to address disaster-related challenges through digital innovation.

The event brings together the University of Alicante, Spain; University of West Attica in Greece; Xavier University and UC in the Philippines; and Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Utara Malaysia. Through this partnership, UC advances its commitment to international research collaboration, interdisciplinary learning, and the application of digital technologies to natural hazard preparedness and risk reduction.

The DIGIHAS project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Program.

Through its Office of Flexible and Lifelong Learning Pathways (FLiP), the University of the Cordilleras (UC) conducted a hands-on writeshop on developing engaging, accessible, and quality-assured Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) materials on October 13, 2026. The writeshop was facilitated by Dr. Dave E. Marcial of Negros Oriental State University.

The activity brought together academic deans, program chairs, graduate program coordinators, and faculty members to strengthen the universityโ€™s capacity to develop effective distance learning materials.

The initiative supports UCโ€™s application to offer selected academic programs through ODeL, reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to flexible, inclusive, innovative, and quality-assured education.
