This Indigenous Peoples’ Month, step into the heartbeat of our local traditions and ancestral roots with 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗧𝗔𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗸 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝗶𝗹𝗶: 𝗔 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴!🌾✨ Join us for an immersive afternoon celebrating Indi-genius heritage, resilience, and the power of community storytelling.

We are featuring John Paul Gahid’s 𝑳𝒊𝒚𝒂𝒉: 𝑯𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒊 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝑴𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒌𝒊 ; a documentary following Elvin, a young Ifugao, as he undergoes the demanding Liyah initiation ritual to become a mumbaki. Set against the sacred Ifugao Rice Terraces, the film explores the beauty and burden of cultural inheritance as a new generation balances ancient traditions with modern life.

Alongside this, we will also showcase selected works from 𝑯𝒂𝒃𝒊’𝒕 𝑫𝒊𝒘𝒂, a BC 124 (Educational Programs) production under the guidance of Faculty-in-Charge Asst. Prof. Christian Ezekiel J. Fajardo, executively produced by Khyle Kerry Marzan, with Segment 1 produced by Ryza Jane Cezar and Segment 2 produced by Amanda Joy Villaroman.

Kita-kits ngayong gabi sa UP Baguio, CSS Courtyard para sa LIWLIWA, isang cultural concert na layuning maglikom ng pondo upang maisabuhay at mapanatili ang mga tradisyon at pangkulturang gawain ng mga Katutubo sa loob at labas ng unibersidad!

Kasabay ng musika at sayawan, sama-sama nating itatampok at ipagdiwang ang mayaman at makulay na kultura ng ating mga katutubong pamayanan!

We are pleased to invite everyone to Liwliwa: Cultural Concert for a Cause 🙏🏻
(Open to UPB and Non-UPB community)

This event aims to raise funds for the procurement of cultural attire, musical instruments, cultural materials, and other resources essential to sustaining cultural practice and expression within the University. At present, many of these resources remain limited or incomplete, making it difficult for students, especially Indigenous Peoples (IPs), to fully engage in and preserve their cultural traditions. In many instances, students are left to search for and provide these materials on their own.

Moreover, the event aims to showcase cultural music, traditional dances, and cultural theater performances that reflect the rich cultures and lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples. It also seeks to provide a platform for Indigenous students, cultural workers, artists, and advocates, both within and outside the University, to share their art, histories, and aspirations with the wider UP Baguio community.

Tickets may be availed through any officer of the UP Baguio University Student Council and PAGTA members. You may also scan the QR code on the poster or check the comments section for the ticket link. Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis. Any amount is deeply appreciated and will directly support the cause and initiatives of the event.
