The University Student Council (USC) invites everyone to visit and experience the art exhibit, โ€œDrawn to Culture: Exploring Heritage Through Art and Expression,โ€ happening from April 13โ€“18, 2026 at the UC Sanctuary, Room N9001.

This exhibit features selected artworks from an inter-college competition, showcasing the creativity and cultural expression of students through painting, digital art, and mixed media. It aims to promote appreciation of our rich cultural heritage while providing a platform for student artists to share their talents with the university community.

We are also honored to have Silvino Dulnuan as the official judge of the exhibit. A prominent Baguio-based muralist, painter, and cultural bearer, he is recognized for his work on major public murals, including the 40-foot Lionโ€™s Head mural. He leads the 23 Sampaguita Artists Collective and is known for highlighting themes of environment, nature, and Cordilleran culture, as seen in his 2022 solo exhibition, โ€œTawid.โ€

All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to drop by, support our student artists, and immerse themselves in a meaningful celebration of art and culture.

The University Student Council (USC), together with the College Student Councils (CSCs), has formally submitted a petition to the university administration regarding the challenges faced by students due to the recent fuel price hike and rising transportation costs. The petition outlines several recommendations aimed at supporting students and ensuring continued access to education during this period.

Aligned with the guidelines of the Commission on Higher Education under CHED Memorandum No. 117, s. 2026, the recommendations include flexible learning modalities, student-centered academic policies, adjusted assessments, continued laboratory learning, strengthened psychosocial support, and improved learning continuity mechanisms.

Beyond advocacy, the USC also continues to extend support to the UC community by processing its donation for the upcoming UC Community Pantry initiativeโ€”reinforcing the commitment to stand with students not only through policy action but also through community support.

The USC remains committed to amplifying the voices of students and working collaboratively toward solutions that protect access to quality education.

In light of the ongoing oil crisis affecting our daily lives as students, the University Student Council (USC) launches Pulso Ti Ucian, a survey grounded in our commitment to represent the collective voice of the student body.

This initiative, duly approved at the institutional level, is aligned with the surveys disseminated across some colleges, efforts initiated by their respective College Student Councils in collaboration with the USC. While these college-based surveys aim to capture specific and sectoral concerns, Pulso Ti Ucian focuses on identifying the general needs and shared realities of students across all programs.

Through this unified and collaborative approach, we aim to build a comprehensive, data-driven position that will guide our recommendations to the administration โ€” ensuring that every voice is amplified and no sector is left behind.

The University Student Council (USC) announces that interviews for the Educational Subsidy Grant (ESG) Qualified Applicants will be conducted tomorrow at the USC Office (Room S318).

Please be reminded that only applicants who received a notification text from a USC Senator will be accommodated for the interview.

Qualified applicants are advised to arrive on time and come prepared, as this is an important step in the application process.
