A month ago, I wasn't sure this day would come.
We are a small organization, one of the smallest in our university. Our budget was limited, our resources were stretched thin, and the messages we sent out were met with silence. Days passed, and I found myself going back and forth, reaching out to anyone who would listen, hoping for a single yes. There were real moments of doubt. Moments where I genuinely asked myself if we were in over our heads.
But we didnโt stop. Because we believed that MECH MAYHEM 3.0 deserved to happen and that every student who worked tirelessly deserved a stage worthy of that effort.
So we kept going. And finally, it's done with more than 150 people gathered, an achievement far beyond what we ever dared to imagine for a small org like ours.
None of this would have been possible without the people who believed in us.
To our partners DOST-CAR, Pinoy Robot Games, and Texas Instruments, you said yes when it mattered most, and that yes changed everything. We are endlessly grateful for your trust and your support.
To our eleven sponsors, you took a chance on a small team with a big dream. Because of you, students had a stage to compete, to grow, and to shine. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
To the Mechatronics Engineering Society, the dream team, you know exactly what we went through to get here. The stress, the uncertainty, the scrambling, the late nights, and the occasional โgagana pa ba yung bot? โ. Through all of it, none of you gave up. I could not be prouder to be part of such a family.
And to every competitor and guest, thank you for showing up, for bringing your passion, and for making this event everything it was meant to be.
But MECH MAYHEM 3.0 doesn't end here.
The kits used in this competition will be donated to selected schools as part of MESo's outreach and extension program, because we firmly believe that robotics should not be a privilege. It should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they come from or what resources they have.
The designs will also be released as open source, so that anyone with the curiosity and the drive to start their robotics journey will have a guide to do so, freely and openly.
Because this was never just about the competition. It was about building something bigger than a single event; it was about building a community.
To everyone in these photos and everyone behind the scenes, thank you for being part of history. MECH MAYHEM 3.0 is proof that a small team, with enough heart, can do extraordinary things.
This is only the beginning. ๐
