On July 17, 2026, the Aurora State College of Technology School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SFES), successfully underwent the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Visit conducted by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) for its Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science programs. Leading the evaluation team was Dr. Arnold V. Damaso, Education Specialist of CHEDRO 3. The SFES Team led by For. Michelle A. Resueño, Acting Dean, Dr. Afed Daiwey, BSF Program Chairperson, and For. Maria Cristina B. Cañada, BSES Program Chairperson, together with the faculty and staff of SFES made the necessary preparations prior to the visit. The activity served as an essential quality assurance initiative to assess the programs' compliance with CHED policies, standards, and guidelines while reinforcing the institution's commitment to delivering quality higher education.

ASCOT SFES School Vicinity Clean-Up Drive

The School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SFES) of Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) successfully conducted a series of clean-up activities within and around the SFES buildings, classrooms, and nearby areas of the ASCOT vicinity as part of its commitment to environmental stewardship, cleanliness, and community responsibility.

The clean-up started on Friday, July 10, 2026, led by the Dean of SFES, For. Michelle A. Resueño, together with the dedicated faculty and staff of the school, who actively participated in cleaning and maintaining the surroundings of the college.

The activity continued on Saturday, July 11, 2026, through the participation of the NSTP-CWTS students from the BS Forestry (BSF) and BS Environmental Science (BSES) programs, demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism and civic engagement among the students.

The clean-up drive was further sustained on July 13, 2026, with the active participation of BSF and BSES students from first year to fourth year levels, showcasing unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility in creating a cleaner, safer, and more conducive learning environment for the entire SFES community.

This initiative not only enhanced the cleanliness and beauty of the school surroundings but also strengthened the values of environmental awareness, discipline, teamwork, and community participation among students and personnel.

Together, we build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for the ASCOT community. 💚✨

School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences Orientation 2026

The School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SFES) successfully conducted its orientation program for all Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF) and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (BSES) students, with a special welcome extended to the first year students who are beginning their academic journey with the school.

The program commenced with a warm welcome and inspirational message from the Dean of SFES, For. Michelle A. Resueño, who encouraged the students to pursue academic excellence, environmental stewardship, and responsible leadership.

The orientation was also graced by the presence of the ASCOT GAD Director, Mam Cynthia D. Macose, who discussed the importance of fostering a Gender and Development (GAD)-responsive learning environment that promotes inclusivity, equality, and respect within the academic community.

For. Novelyn D. Buhong introduced the faculty and staff of SFES, allowing students to become familiar with the individuals who will guide and support them throughout their academic journey.

Meanwhile, Eutiquio L. Rotaquio Jr., PhD presented the milestones and achievements of SFES, highlighting the college's commitment to excellence in forestry and environmental education.

The BSF Program Chair, Afed S. Daiwey, PhD, presented the Bachelor of Science in Forestry program curriculum, while For. Maria Cristina B. Cañada, BSES Program Chair, discussed the curriculum and academic requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science program.

The SFES GAD Coordinator, For. Merlita T. Agbayani, discussed the policies, guidelines, and student responsibilities to ensure a safe, productive, and supportive learning environment for everyone.

Furthermore, the AFSC Adviser, For. Marlon G. Lingon, introduced the student leaders of SFES and provided a brief discussion on the importance of student leadership, participation, and service in strengthening the academic community.

The program concluded with closing remarks from RB J. Gallego, PhD, who officially welcomed the students to SFES and shared an inspiring message encouraging them to embrace challenges, pursue their goals with determination, and become future leaders in forestry and environmental conservation.

This orientation reflects the commitment of SFES and ASCOT to providing quality education, promoting gender equality, and nurturing environmentally responsible professionals. 💚✨
