World Rabies Day serves as a reminder that the awareness we build today can help save lives tomorrow.

Preventing rabies is not the responsibility of health workers or animal owners alone. It is a shared responsibility that involved families, communities, schools, and local authorities.

This collective effort is important as rabies is nearly 100% fatal once clinical symptoms appear, but it is also 100% preventable.

Together, we can turn awareness into action and help protect all species.

Senior and junior clinicians from the Veterinary Medical Clinicians’ Club of Aklan State University (VMCC-ASU) joined the two-day Spay, Neuter, and Rabies Vaccination Campaign conducted on September 23–24, 2026, at the Buruanga Covered Court, Poblacion, Buruanga, Aklan.

The campaign was conducted with the support and leadership of Hon. Allan P. Dagohoy, Mayor of Buruanga, through the collaborative efforts of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVET) of Aklan and the Office of the Municipal Agriculture of Buruanga, with support from local government veterinarians from Malay, Malinao, and Balete.

This two-day event aimed to contribute to the management of the local stray animal population and the strengthening of rabies prevention and control efforts in the community.

𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦: The Veterinary Medicine Clinicians Club (VMCC) will offer free veterinary services to pet owners as part of the observance of World Rabies Day 2026 on Monday, September 28.

The services will include free rabies vaccination, deworming, and vitamins for dogs and cats at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Aklan State University – Banga, Aklan, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Pet owners are encouraged to bring their companion animals and take advantage of the available services. These will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available until supplies last.

The initiative aims to promote responsible pet ownership and strengthen community efforts toward rabies prevention and control.

Hiwaton ro nasambit nga aktibidad halin alas-8:00 it agahon hasta alas-5:00 it hapon (ukon hasta may available pa nga suplay) sa Veterinary Teaching Hospital, College of Veterinary Medicine it Aklan State University (ASU) sa banwa it Banga, Aklan. Daya nga inisyatibo hay rehistrado sa idaeom it GARC - Rabies Alliance nga may temang "Stronger Together: Guarding Communities, Protecting the Voiceless."

makabaton ro mga alagang sapat it libreng serbisyo kapareho it Rabies Vaccination, Deworming (pagpurga), ag Bitamina. Para maka-avail sa Anti-Rabies Vaccine, kinahangean nga naga-edad it tatlong (3) buean pasaka ro alaga, samtang dapat indi magnaba sa daywang (2) dominggo ro edad para sa deworming.

Ginapahanumdum man ro mga pet owners sa mga masunod nga requirements:
* Daehon ro vaccination card it alaga (kon may una).
* Higtan (leash) ukon ibutang sa ewas nga kulungan/carrier ro mga alaga (ag butangan it busal ukon muzzle kon agresibo).
* Siguruhon nga sa mayad nga kondisyon ro ikamayas nga eawas it sapat.
