The WURI 2025 results mark a remarkable achievement for the Abra State Institute of Science and Technology (ASIST), highlighting its growing influence in innovation, ethics, sustainability, and cultural preservation. Ranking in the Top 100 in sixteen categories, ASIST demonstrated its wide-ranging impact, particularly in three standout initiatives. In Category A6 Ethics and Integrity, titled "Waves of Change: Cultivating Ethics and Integrity in GAD Initiatives," authored by Dr. Rhea A. Quileza and Ms. Donna Joy C. Valdez, secured the Top 9 out of 87, underscoring the university’s commitment to gender and development with integrity and ethical grounding. Meanwhile, "Project TINGGUIAN: (Teaching Indigenous knowledge Guiding Understanding In Academic Nurture): Advancing Cultural Heritage Through Educational Innovation," authored by Mr. Patrick A. Benedito, Mr. Petronilo Elveña, and Ms. Donna Joy C. Valdez—earned Top 5 out of 100 in Category B4 Culture/Values, recognizing the university's leadership in integrating indigenous knowledge into academic development. Additionally, the "B7: Bamboo Boom: Cost-Effective Pathways to Sustainability and Smart Resource Management," authored by Ms. Kae Ann Marie P. Balingit and Dr. Nero M. Paderes, focused on sustainable practices and smart resource management and was placed in the Top 4 in Category B7 Cost-Benefit Management, reflecting ASIST's dedication to cost-effective and eco-friendly innovation.
Furthermore, ASIST’s inclusion in the Global Top 400 Innovative Universities, securing the 179th spot, is a milestone that places the university among the world’s leading institutions for innovation. This recognition validates ASIST’s forward-thinking strategies and its ability to create meaningful, scalable solutions to global challenges despite its modest size and resources. This recognition also positions the institution for enhanced academic collaborations, research opportunities, and global visibility. Overall, the WURI 2025 performance not only honors the visionary efforts of ASIST's faculty and researchers but also elevates ASIST as a model for innovation-driven, culturally rooted, and socially responsive higher education in the Philippines and beyond.
