𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬
𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 – 𝘼𝙗𝙧𝙖 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮, 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨

The College of Industrial Technology recently concluded Panagsubli 2026, a series of activities welcoming both freshmen and returning students to the new academic year.

The celebration began with a Campus Tour for freshmen, introducing them to key facilities such as the academic buildings, laboratories, library, student services, administrative offices, and the gymnasium. The tour helped new students familiarize themselves with campus rules, safety reminders, and university traditions as they settled into their new environment.

The Society of Industrial Technology Innovators (SITI) followed with a day of fellowship activities, including Human Bingo, Sabay-Sabay Tayo, Bring Me with a Twist, and an Open Karaoke segment. The event fostered camaraderie among students and concluded with the formal presentation of the newly introduced SITI Officers.

The celebration culminated in the Orientation and Re-orientation Program held on July 30, 2026. 𝘿𝙧. 𝙇𝙚𝙤 𝙏. 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙨, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, welcomed the students and encouraged discipline, active participation, and unity in pursuing academic excellence. 𝘿𝙧. 𝙅𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙑. 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙧, Program Chair of Information Technology, introduced the faculty, staff, and program coordinators who will support students throughout the year. Students were also briefed on academic policies, fees, and the college's guidance, medical, library, financial, and other support services.

𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙀. 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙪𝙚𝙡𝙖 was recognized for placing 7th in the College Placement Test, receiving a Certificate of Recognition from the Guidance Office. SITI Governor 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙘 𝙍𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙖 discussed the organization's Constitution and By-Laws and invited students to run in the upcoming mandated organization elections. The program closed with remarks from Dr. Judith V. Casabar, sending students off ready for the new academic year.

The College of Industrial Technology successfully conducted its Enhancement of Course Syllabi Workshop, bringing together the Dean, Program Chairs, Program Coordinators, and Faculty Members for a day of learning, collaboration, and quality improvement! 🎓

In his welcome remarks, 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐨 𝐓. 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐬 reminded everyone that a course syllabus is more than just a document, it is a foundational tool that shapes every student's learning journey. He encouraged faculty to collaborate closely with Program Chairs and the College Secretariat, share best practices, and actively engage in the discussions ahead.

𝘿𝙧. 𝙅𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙑. 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙧, Program Chair of BIT, presented the rationale behind the activity, ensuring that all syllabi remain updated, outcomes-based, and learner-centered as the College continues preparing for quality assurance and accreditation.

The College was also honored to welcome 𝘿𝙧. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙘𝙖 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙤, Director of the Curriculum and Instructional Materials Development Office, who led an insightful orientation on syllabus standardization, ISO compliance, reference requirements, grading systems, and responsible AI use in instructional materials.

The day continued with a hands-on workshop where faculty members revised and finalized their course syllabi, guided by their Program Chairs, culminating in the distribution of Certificates of Participation.

Closing remarks were delivered by 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛. 𝙂𝙚𝙢𝙢𝙖 𝙋. 𝙂𝙤𝙣𝙯𝙖𝙡𝙤, Program Chair of Home Economics Technology, who thanked everyone for their active participation and encouraged continued collaboration toward quality, learner-centered instruction.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐍𝐠𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐧 steps into this role following the retirement of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐓. 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐚, 𝐉𝐫. We are proud to see someone of his caliber take on this responsibility — a person who has long shown dedication to the institution and the community it serves.

True to our college's heart of Creating, Inspiring, and Transforming, we believe that great institutions are built by great leaders. We look forward to the leadership and direction Dr. Ngohayon will bring to ASIST, and we stand behind him as he takes on this new chapter.
