๐๐ก ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฆ | CLSU, DOST, and Partners Formalize AI-Driven Smart City Initiative in Muรฑoz
MUรOZ, NUEVA ECIJA โ A collaborative initiative toward smart and sustainable urban development was formally sealed through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on April 16, 2026, at Balai ti Muรฑoz.
The agreement brings together the Department of Science and Technology โ Central Luzon, the Local Government Unit of the Science City of Muรฑoz, Central Luzon State University, and Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology to advance innovation-driven and sustainable city development.
Dr. Marlon Naagas, Project Leader and faculty member from the Department of Information Technology of Central Luzon State University, formally signed a key initiative alongside team members Dr. Anazel Gamilla, Mary Camille Rabang, and Santi Ognita, marking a significant academic contribution to the cityโs smart development efforts.
The partnership aims to strengthen data-driven governance, enhance public service delivery, and promote the integration of innovative technologies across sectors within the city.
Present during the signing ceremony were Julius Caesar V. Sicat, Regional Director of DOSTโCentral Luzon; Leidi Mel B. Sicat, Provincial Director of DOST Nueva Ecija; Baby Armi L. Alvarez, City Mayor of the Science City of Muรฑoz; Rhodora R. Jugo, President of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology; and Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration of Central Luzon State University.
Central to the initiative is the implementation of the Smart City Data Integration (SCDI) Hub, which is expected to enhance data management, system integration, and evidence-based decision-making for the local government.
Through this unified effort, partner institutions reaffirm their commitment to building a smarter, more resilient, and future-ready Science City of Muรฑoz.
