As higher education institutions transition toward smart university ecosystems, cybersecurity threats continue to evolve and become increasingly sophisticated. This study highlights the implementation of a Deception-Driven Security Model (D-DSM) designed for campus network environments to complement traditional Defense-in-Depth (DID) strategies.

The proposed model integrates centralized deception mechanisms and decoy resources to mislead attackers, divert malicious activities away from critical systems, and generate meaningful indicators of attack behavior. By enhancing attack visibility and reducing false alerts, the study contributes to the development of smarter, safer, and more resilient university infrastructures.

This publication reflects a shared commitment to strengthening cybersecurity frameworks and advancing innovative, sustainable, and secure smart university environments.

Welcome to the BSIT Community! 💻✨

The Department of Information Technology officially welcomed its new BSIT students for Academic Year 2026–2027 through HIII Tech: Department Orientation for Freshies, organized by the Information Technology Student Council (ITSC).

The event began with section-based socialization activities, allowing students to connect, collaborate, and get to know their classmates through fun games and interactive activities. This was followed by ByteWalk: The First Step into the Digital World, a symbolic walk marking the beginning of their journey in the BSIT program.

The orientation proper officially opened with the inspiring welcome remarks of Dr. Anjela C. Tolentino, Department Chairperson, followed by informative sessions from guest speakers who shared valuable insights for navigating student life in the program.

🖥️ Mr. Rayson James O. Imbag discussed his experiences and lessons learned as a BSIT graduate through "Hello, World!: My BSIT Journey."

📂 Ms. Angelika S. Balagot guided students through the curriculum and academic expectations in "Source Code: Understanding the BSIT Program."

🔐 Mr. Ryan L. Bermoza introduced the rules, responsibilities, and expectations of being part of the CLIRDEC community through "Access Granted: Rules and Responsibilities of a BSIT Student."

The event concluded with presentations from the department's student organizations—ITSC, IMG, BITS, and The Cache—introducing opportunities for leadership, involvement, and professional growth within the BSIT community.

From freshmen to transferees and shifters, HIII Tech served as a gateway to new experiences, meaningful connections, and the exciting journey ahead in Information Technology.
