The Batangas City government cancelled face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private schools tomorrow, August 19, due to heavy rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon.

Alternative learning modes are advised as substitute for in-person classes, following the assessment of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

𝗔𝗟 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘆𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝟮𝟲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝘀

Batangas State University, The NEU — Alangilan Campus achieved its highest performance in the Food Technologist Licensure Examination (FTLE) to date, with an institutional rating of 68.42%, producing 26 newly passed food technologists in the recent examination held on August 12-13.

From the 66.32% national passing rate, Alangilan recorded a total of 26 sucessful passers according to the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) today, August 17.

Dr. Albertson D. Amante, Campus Director of BatStateU, The NEU - LIMA Campus, welcomed more than 800 engineering and technology freshmen with industry-centered learning opportunities during the campus’ formal opening at LIMA Multipurpose Hall, August 17.

“For our dear students, I encourage you to take full advantage of what this campus can offer,” Dr. Amante said, urging the students to consider the campus as a great privilege to broaden their perspective.

“For BatStateU, this means being more responsive to the changing needs of industry," he added.

University President Tirso A. Ronquillo, together with Mr. Rafael P. Fernandez de Mesa, President and CEO of Aboitiz Land and Aboitiz Economic Estate, oriented students regarding the joint effort between the two institutions in bringing technological hubs closer to learners.

Princess Nicole P. Arellano, Bachelor of Science in Food Engineering student, shared her expectation for the campus in the field of technology.

“Ine-expect ko na magiging maayos at mas advanced po siya dahil sa sobrang lawak nito at sa sobrang daming puwedeng gawin. Expected ko talaga na higit sa lahat is magkakaroon ako dito ng unique experience in life as a first year college [student] na magtatapos ng BSFE,” said Arellano.

Faculty and students also visited LIMA's trademark places as part of the Estate Tour including LEX Court, Robinsons, RedLink Terminal, LEX Terminal, TOLE-H&M, Pickleball Court, and Holiday Inn.

Afternoon events for Student Enrichment Activities per Program and Organization has been postponed to comply with Memorandum Circular No.127 due to inclement weather condition.

𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗘

As per Memorandum Circular No. 128, classes at all levels in both public and private schools in several provinces of Luzon, including Batangas, will shift to alternative learning modes tomorrow, August 18, due to inclement weather brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

The memorandum also ordered government officials to adopt work-from-home arrangements, as recommended by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
