Alongside the opening of the ICSRI 2026, Batangas State University, The National Engineering University (BatStateU The NEU), welcomes senior government officials and leaders from science and technology, higher education, trade, and diplomacy to the culminating forum of the CHEDโDOST Innovation Summit 2026 today, September 28, at the Pablo Borbon Campus.
In his welcome remarks, University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo underscored the need to move promising technologies beyond research and prototypes and bring them closer to adoption, investment, production, and scale.
โThe Philippines has reached a point where the question is no longer whether we can produce innovation, but how far we can take it,โ Dr. Ronquillo said.
He stressed that the value of innovation lies in what technologies can deliver beyond the university: โInnovation is ultimately measured by what those technologies can doโfor our industries, our economy, our communities, and increasingly, for markets beyond our shores.โ
The CHEDโDOST Innovation Summit 2026 forms part of a government initiative to validate, scale, and globally position promising technologies developed by Philippine higher education institutions.
