ICYMI | LPU Maritime Training Center Successfully Completes MARINA STCW Monitoring Visit, Reinforcing Commitment to Maritime Excellence
The LPU Maritime Training Center (LMTC) successfully underwent the MARINA STCW Office Monitoring Visit for its maritime training programs on July 6–8, 2026, at the LPU Maritime Training Center, LIMA Campus, LPU-Batangas.
The monitoring visit was conducted by the MARINA Monitoring Team, led by C/O Ramices A. Vadillo, together with Mr. Eric Eisa Estabillioa and Capt. Jay R. Velasquez. The visit aimed to assess and verify LMTC’s continued compliance with the standards and requirements governing maritime training programs under the STCW framework.
Representing LPU-Batangas during the visit were Mr. Frederick C. Badillo, Senior Vice President/Vice President for Finance; Dr. Cecilia C. Pring, Vice President for Academics and Research; Dr. Conrado I. Dotong, Assistant Vice President for Student Services; Capt. Alexander Gonzales, Executive Dean for LIMA Academic Operations; and CM Arnulfo Orence, LMTC Training Director.
The successful completion of the monitoring visit reflects LPU-Batangas’ continuing commitment to quality maritime education and training, regulatory compliance, and the development of competent, disciplined, and globally competitive maritime professionals.
Through LMTC, LPU-Batangas remains steadfast in upholding excellence in maritime training and in supporting the standards set by MARINA for the advancement of the country’s maritime industry.
