Exam season has a way of making every student feel like there is never enough time.

There are still pages waiting to be read, formulas waiting to be memorized, concepts waiting to be understood, and reviewers waiting to be finished. You sit down with the intention of studying for hours, telling yourself, โ€œIโ€™ll just finish this one last topic.โ€ But before you know it, exhaustion takes over, and you find yourself asleep with your notes still open beside you.

And somehow, you wake up feeling guilty.

You think about the things you were not able to review, the lessons you might have missed, and the time you could have spent studying. But sometimes, we forget that behind every unfinished chapter is a person who has already been trying their best.

A student who stayed up late.
A student who fought through distractions.
A student who carried pressure, expectations, and responsibilities while still choosing to continue.

Do not let guilt defeat you. Remind yourself that one tiring day does not define your journey. What matters is that you continue showing up and doing what you can.

A total of 1,362 out of 3,686 (36.95%) successfully hurdled the August 2026 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Exam (MELE), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Thursday, August 13.

Filipinos are often praised for being resilient. We are known for standing back up after disasters, facing difficulties with courage, and finding hope even in the most uncertain situations. But perhaps resilience should not only be about how well we survive but it should also be about how responsibly we respond.

Because what happens after we rise?

Standing strong with the Filipino community means recognizing that we have a responsibility to one another. Resilience becomes more meaningful when it is accompanied by accountability.

A community cannot move forward if it continues repeating the same mistakes without learning from them. We can be proud of our ability to endure, but we should also be brave enough to ask difficult questions: What can I do better? What responsibility do I carry? How does my choice affect the people around me?

For us as ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ, standing strong means more than simply getting through challenges. It means becoming responsible members of our school and community; ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ who are willing to speak up, help others, own their mistakes, and contribute to meaningful change.

Being Filipino is not simply about surviving every challenge thrown our way. It is also about becoming responsible participants in the future we want to create.
