𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊| ABEL FUN FEST 2024

The AB English Language Department celebrated ABEL Fun Fest with the theme, "Unveiling Language's Essence; Where Words Take Flight!" last February 19-20, 2024

The celebration featured the talents and wit of the ABEL students in various contests which include, ABEL Talent Showcase, 4 Word Verse Poetry Contest, Essay Writing Contest, Short Story Writing Contests among others.

On the second day of the event, the ABEL Circle prepared fun and interactive games and activities that was designed to test students' skills. From Scavenger hunt to Pass the Message, Pinoy Henyo, and ABEL Concert, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

It was indeed a great refreshment for everyone to have such an event as this only happens once every academic year. The incumbent officers, with the support and leadership of ABEL Chairperson, Laarni B. Perez, PhD and ABEL Club Adviser, Virginia A. Geslani, MAEd, managed to bring out the ABEL Fun Fest spirit.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝘼𝘽𝙀𝙇 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝟮-𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙁𝙪𝙣 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩

Highlighting the essence of language, forging connections, and nurturing language community spirit, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (ABEL) students, along with their official student organization, ABEL Circle, held a two-day event named ABEL Fun Fest 2024 with the theme, “Unveiling Language’s Essence – ABEL Fun Fest: Where Words Take Flight,” at the Benigno Aldana Gymnasium, February 19-20.

The two-day fest showcased the diverse talents and skills of the ABELians through various contests, including the Essay Writing Contest, Yell Making Contest, Talent Showcase, and the Four-Word Verse Poetry Contest, where participants flaunted their expertise and competed for prizes and awards.

Melody Ramirez, ABEL Circle President, acknowledged her co-officers’ contributions with the guidance of their ABEL Circle Adviser, Ms. Virginia G. Fernandez, in making the festivity possible for everyone to cherish.

The ABEL Department headed by Dr. Laarni B. Perez, ABEL Chairperson, along with Campus Executive Director Dr. Gudelia M. Samson and College of Arts, Sciences, and Technology Dean Dr. Ghana M. Cahatol, all expressed their enthusiasm towards progressive English language exploration by conducting similar events that aim to make learning fun and enjoyable.

Moreover, the much-anticipated ABEL concert added a remarkable musical touch to the celebration. The concert, held on the second day, featured performances that captivated their audiences and added to the overall festive atmosphere.

Concluding the event in a fitting manner, Ramirez presented certificates of appreciation to the judges and staff, along with certificates of recognition to all the contest winners. Christine Diones, ABEL Circle Vice President, formally closed the event with a heartfelt expression of gratitude for everyone’s contributions in making it a success.

𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥: 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐮𝐩 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞!

Fostering a cleaner and more vibrant atmosphere, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (ABEL) students conducted a clean-up drive at CAST Social Hall on February 23, 2024.

Different year levels were tasked to clean the entire Social Hall area, starting with decluttering, dusting the windows, arranging the chairs, and sweeping the stairs along the hallway.

By investing time and effort in its upkeep, the ABEL students strive to create an environment that embodies the principles of cleanliness, cooperation, and camaraderie.

𝐀𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬!

Last Thursday, December 7, 2023, the 4th yr ABEL students presented their 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, unleashing their talents and potentials as globally competent individuals.

Through Chinese dancing, singing, acting, and writing, the students have shown a new version of themselves– showcasing the various cultures of China with the hopes of expressing their courtesy and love for the Chinese people.

The final performance organized by their lovely instructor, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐢, not only gave a glimpse of Chinese culture but also shown the knowledge they have acquired throughout the entire semester in their subject, 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 - 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧.
