NORSU-BSC CAS Holds Pinning Ceremony for Fourth-Year BSCS and BSIT Students
The Negros Oriental State UniversityโBayawanโSanta Catalina Campus College of Arts and Sciences held its Pinning Ceremony for fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students at the campus gymnasium.
The ceremony marked an important milestone in the studentsโ academic journey as they prepared for internship and future professional responsibilities. The pins and nameplates they received symbolized their hard work, dedication, sacrifices, and readiness to apply the knowledge and values they gained from the university.
The program began with the processional, Philippine National Anthem, universal prayer, dedication song, rekindling of flames, and scripture reading. The rekindling of flames was led by John Ryan V. Teope, Tyron Lee T. Paira, Jeyssah Joy U. Moleรฑo, and Rumil P. Yurfo, representing instruction, research, extension, and production.
Jovany B. Castillo, LPT, delivered the words of welcome, while Jesus D. Sumadia, MSIT, introduced the keynote speaker. Julio E. Ventolero, MTE, MMM, Director of the Student Affairs Office, NSTP Director, and Chief Security Officer, delivered the keynote message.
The candidates were presented by Jean Carrem R. Esparcia, PhD, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Hon. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, Psy.D, University President, confirmed the candidates and delivered an inspirational message.
Ella Joy N. Quinilitan, BSIT IV, led the Pledge of Commitment, while Johnrey E. Ortega, LPT, delivered the closing remarks. The ceremony was hosted by Ralphe C. Rodriguez, BSCS IV, and Flerie Jill M. Montes, BSIT IV.
The event was filled with proud families, supportive instructors, and excited students. Smiles, applause, and tears of joy reflected the significance of the occasion.
The Pinning Ceremony served not only as a celebration of achievement but also as a reminder of the responsibilities the students will carry as they continue their journey toward becoming future IT and computer science professionals.
