𝐃𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐳𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 for Academic Affairs, delivered the closing message.

The accreditation reflects NORSU's dedication to its core values of Spirituality, Honesty, Innovation, Nurturance, and Excellence (SHINE) and its continuous pursuit of academic quality and institutional development.

Former College of Arts and Sciences Dean and newly appointed Computer Science Program Chair, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑨𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒍 𝑴. 𝒀𝒖𝒓𝒇𝒐, also shared an inspiring message, expressing his happiness over the successful online accreditation. He emphasized that the achievement demonstrates the university's readiness to meet both local and international quality standards. He also commended the significant improvements made over the past five years, particularly in the College of Arts and Sciences, citing the continuous enhancement of its academic programs, faculty expertise, learning facilities, and overall educational environment. He encouraged the NORSU community to sustain its commitment to excellence and continue building on these accomplishments.

BAYAWAN–STA. CATALINA CAMPUS — The Computer Science and Information Technology Departments of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) Bayawan–Sta. Catalina Campus, under the 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝘿𝙧. 𝙅𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙢 𝙍. 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙖, are intensifying their preparations for the upcoming BSCS Accreditation Activities, scheduled for August 10–14, 2026.

The BSCS Accreditation Task Force has been organized to ensure the readiness of the Computer Science program and its supporting areas throughout the accreditation period. The task force brings together faculty members and personnel assigned to key areas, including Instruction, Extension, Faculty Development, Library, and Supporting Staff.

The Library team will be led by 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐥 𝐌. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚, 𝐌𝐋𝐈𝐒, as Area Presenter, with 𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐋𝐏𝐓, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐨 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥, 𝐌𝐒𝐈𝐓, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐛𝐫𝐞.

Supporting the accreditation preparations are 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐥𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐫.

Prior to the accreditation activities, the department has also outlined several preparations to ensure that the accreditation venue, documents, facilities, and equipment are ready. These include the completion, checking, and submission of the Narrative and Compliance Report, as well as the preparation of the accreditation room, internet connection, sound system, television, tables, and chairs.

The task force has likewise scheduled the cleaning of the CSIT office, computer laboratories, and hallways, along with the checking, repair, and cleaning of computers to ensure readiness for the virtual tour and other accreditation activities.

The preparations reflect the collective effort of the 𝐂𝐒𝐈𝐓 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐒𝐂𝐒 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦'𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬.

With every member assigned a specific role, the BSCS Accreditation Task Force continues to work toward presenting the program's accomplishments, facilities, faculty development initiatives, community extension efforts, and commitment to quality education.

𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐔) formally welcomed its accreditation panel and taskforces through a Virtual Onboarding Program, marking a significant step in the university’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence, institutional development, and quality assurance.

The gathering commenced with the virtual onboarding session from 𝟖:𝟎𝟎 to 𝟗:𝟎𝟎 a.m., followed by the NORSU preliminaries featuring the NORSUnian Spirituality, NORSU Hymn, Philippine National Anthem, and NORSU VMGO.

The opening statement was delivered by University President 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐍𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐨𝐧 𝐄. 𝐘𝐚𝐬𝐢, 𝐏𝐬𝐲.𝐃., setting the tone for the university’s accreditation efforts.
