With great joy, honor, and pride, we are happy and greet our sincerest congratulations to all who passed and to all who did their best. Thank you for doing your best! You've shown everyone the strength and significance of the agriculture sector in the Philippines!

On this very special day, we would like to honor and express our heartfelt gratitude to all teachers around the world, especially to our teachers at the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, for inspiring and guiding students to do better.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 || August 16, 2024 (Friday)

The Association of Plant Breeding Majors (APBM) held its first orientation for the school year 2024-2025. This event introduced the faculty and seniors, and provided an overview of the Plant Breeding and Genetics major, giving attendees a heads-up on future events and the impacts and opportunities this major can provide.

ALSO—Later that evening, the VSU hosted a welcome night for the freshmen and VISCANS to celebrate the beginning of their VISCAN journey, after surviving the twists and turns of the previous years. The APBM has been excited to celebrate this event, including creating exclusive BINI-inspired bracelets for everyone to buy and wear. We also sold colored water in bottles to fully enjoy the night in full swing!

Thank you everyone for making the night successful and eventful! Last night was truly a bliss!

We, at the Association of Plant Breeding Majors, would like to extend our congratulations to Dr. Jerry B. Sanguillosa on his appointment as Head of the VSU-Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics. Dr. Jerry is the latest faculty member of the office and served as OIC-Head of the Department for almost six months. Under his leadership, the department successfully applied for its Certification to CHED for the MS in Plant Breeding and will be offering next semester.

Dr. Jerry completed his Doctorate degree in Plant Breeding at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He also served as Secretary of the Board of Regents and University Secretary at the University of Cabuyao in Laguna prior to his employment here at VSU.
