On August 31, 2026, our BSEd Mathematics pre-service teachers joined the Faculty of Teacher Educationโ€™s Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony for Batch 2026โ€“2027 at RDE Hall.

The ceremony marked a meaningful milestone as they prepare to begin their Practice Teaching and take another step toward becoming future mathematics educators. More than a pin and a light, this moment represents the knowledge, responsibility, and commitment they carry as they enter a new chapter of their teaching journey.

This orientation marks a pivotal milestone in their journeyโ€”transforming years of academic preparation into readiness for real classroom experiences. Just like solving equations, they balanced theory with practice, finding the right formula for effective teaching. With strengthened confidence and a deeper sense of purpose, our pre-service teachers are now one step closer to embracing the noble mission of shaping young minds and contributing to the future of education.

The Math Major Society officers represented our organization and participated actively in discussing the responsibilities and values of student leaders.

The summit covered organizational guidelines, documentation, and succession plan to promote accountability among student leaders. By equipping leaders with the knowledge and leadership skills to manage organizations effectively, the event reaffirmed the essential role of student leadership in shaping a culture of integrity and service. Truly, this gathering stands as a testament to the dedication of student leaders who continue to lead with vision, responsibility, and purpose.

On August 19, 2026, the Math Majors Society held its First General Assembly at ADE 132, officially bringing Math Majors together for the opening of Academic Year 2026โ€“2027.

The assembly featured the introduction of the MMS advisers and officers, followed by the presentation of the Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), accomplishment report, financial report, and annual program plan. These discussions provided members with a clearer view of the organizationโ€™s direction, accomplishments, and plans for the year ahead.

The gathering concluded with an open forum, giving members the opportunity to raise questions, share insights, and actively participate in shaping the MMS community.

As we begin another year together, may our shared ideas, voices, and commitment continue to strengthen the Math Majors Society.

On August 17, 2026, the BSEd Mathematics freshmen gathered at ADE 236 for their Freshmen Orientation, taking another meaningful step into their journey as future mathematics educators.

The orientation introduced the freshies to the BSEd Mathematics faculty, advisers, alumni, and department heads, alongside discussions on the course checklist, retention, shifting and internal transfer policies, and insights from continuing students and alumni.

The program also featured the First-Year Nomination and Election and an open forum, giving the freshies an opportunity to ask questions and gain a clearer perspective on the journey ahead.

More than an orientation, it was a moment to connect, learn, and begin building the BSEd Mathematics family.
