Midterms can be downright brutal—between sleepless nights, endless problem sets, and the sheer mental exhaustion of exam week, it is easy to feel completely drained and overwhelmed.

To help lighten that heavy load and make this stressful season a little easier on everyone, the Faculty of Engineering Supreme Student Council welcomes you to Project SaFE Space: Rest and Reset at the FE-SSC Office.

In collaboration with PSABE-VSUSC, PICE-VSUSC, GEP-VSUSC, and PSME-VSUSC, this initiative is designed as a supportive sanctuary to combat burnout, the space offers free Malunggay pandesal and hot coffee on October 5-9 to keep you fueled together with an interactive Freedom Wall and bowl of quotes to lift your spirits, and a post-exam "Happy Aftermath" complete with fun games, community sharing, and free dirty ice cream to celebrate making it through on October 12.

Take a deep breath, prioritize your well-being, and remember that you never have to carry the weight of midterm exams all on your own.

Hard work, quality education, and an unyielding commitment to excellence came together once more as the VSU Department of Geodetic Engineering (VSU-DGE) conquered the September 2026 Geodetic Engineers Licensure Examination (GELE).

All 28 candidates from the department passed the September 23–24 licensure test, cementing a perfect 100% passing rate and placing VSU among the country’s Top Performing Schools. In an exam cycle where the national passing rate stood at 56.82%, VSU-DGE proved the strength of its academic program.

The celebrations deepened as VSU’s own Romnick Malulan earned 8th place nationwide, bringing pride and distinction to the entire campus community.

This landmark success underscores VSU-DGE’s steadfast commitment to delivering quality education and cultivating top-tier professional competence.

Congratulations to our newly licensed Geodetic Engineers and the entire VSU Department of Geodetic Engineering for this extraordinary accomplishment!

As the future of ethical and resilient infrastructure started to unravel, four Civil Engineering students from Visayas State University-Main Campus, accompanied by faculty mentors Engr. Darlyn Abalos and Engr. Devenah Dawn Dagohoy, participated in the 22nd National Civil Engineering Symposium (NCES) 2026 held at the University of the Philippines-Diliman (UPD) Amphitheatre.

The national gathering brought together delegates, scholars, and professionals from colleges and universities across the country to tackle pressing infrastructure challenges, centering on principled engineering, sustainable flood control, environmental protection, and resource management.

Throughout the symposium, discussions highlighted the evolving role of civil engineers as nation-builders—professionals tasked with bridging technical science, policy-making, resource allocation, and governance. Speakers emphasized that modern infrastructure must look beyond blueprints, demanding long-term accountability to remain responsive to local community needs.

By taking part in the national convention, Viscan CEtmates steps into the national stage, joining in reinforcing the commitment to producing Civil Engineers who build not just structures, but resilient communities.
