As the Academic Year starts anew, Faculty of Engineering-Supreme Student Council together with course organization representatives embarks on a new journey for leadership and service.

Gearing up for another year of governance and student empowerment, student leaders gathered for the Student Leadership Congress 2026 at the RDE Hall on August 3-4.

This leadership congress served as a stepping stone for leaders to hone their management skills, align organizational goals, and rediscover the core essence of authentic leadership through interactive workshops and insightful discussions.

With this new positive insights gained, these student leaders step into the upcoming Academic Year as individuals who are "Inayab" with grit to give way, give thanks, give in, and never give up in every endeavours in their journey while upholding "Malasakit" in themselves which made them choose being pure by both heart and mind.

As Viscans that can shape the community, these leaders feel, understand the truth, and leave a covenant that will uplift the students always in all ways.

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | The Visayas State University (VSU) Faculty of Engineering officially commences its 2nd Ring Hop Ceremony today, July 21, 2026, at the VSU RDE Hall, bringing together 112 graduating students in celebration of a significant milestone in their academic journey.

As one of the Faculty's distinguished traditions, the Ring Hop Ceremony symbolizes the graduates' transition from engineering students to future professionals. The event honors the years of dedication, resilience, and academic excellence that have shaped them while reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, innovation, and service as they prepare to enter the engineering profession.

As the curtain falls on the long-awaited #𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 the Faculty of Engineering Class of 2026 #𝗕𝗔𝗨𝗫𝗜𝗧𝗘 steps into a new chapter of excellence comes to a close, let us all acknowledge our beloved keynote speaker, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗦. 𝗧𝗮𝗻.

As the most awaited Ring Hop Ceremony 2026 draws to a close, let us all recognize our esteemed keynote speaker, Dr. Daniel Leslie S. Tan. A proud product of Visayas State University, Dr. Tan earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from our very own institution before pursuing advanced studies at the University of the Philippines Los Baños and Iwate University in Japan. A former Department Head of the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DABE) and a key pillar of PhilRootcrops, his patented innovations—including vacuum frying systems—have revolutionized the Philippine root crop industry.

An award-winning researcher and dedicated educator, Dr. Tan has spent decades mentoring generations of agricultural and biosystems engineers while championing agricultural mechanization, technology commercialization, and rural development. Today, he stands as a distinguished agricultural engineer, researcher, educator, and University Professor whose pioneering contributions continue to inspire future engineers and innovators.

This July 21, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the RDE Hall, join us as Dr. Tan ignites the flame of passion and excellence, inspiring students as they prepare to embark on a new chapter of their academic journey.
