NEWS | Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr. formally took his oath as reappointed President of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) for a second term during the 91st Special Meeting of the NVSU Board of Regents held on September 1, 2026.

The oath was administered by Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the NVSU Board of Regents and Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in the presence of the members of the NVSU Board of Regents.

Also present was Dr. Milabel E. Ho, Executive Director of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) and Chairperson of the Evaluation Committee, which awarded Dr. Dumale an Outstanding performance rating prior to the Board's unanimous approval of his reappointment.

IN PHOTOS | Today’s Flag Raising Ceremony was sponsored by the Administrative Management Services Division at the Bayombong Campus and the Culture and the Arts Office at the Bambang Campus.

At the Bayombong Campus, Dr. Arvin P. Vallesteros, Campus Administrator, delivered his inspirational message, reminding faculty and staff to be prudent in the use of their leave credits. He emphasized the importance of preserving leave benefits for future necessities and unforeseen circumstances.

Dr. Vallesteros also encouraged everyone to continue demonstrating dedication and commitment to their duties, especially when service may be required beyond regular working days.

“Take care of your leave credits for the best use in the future,” he said.

Meanwhile, at the Bambang Campus, Dr. Cristina R. Salvosa, Vice President for Administration and Finance, shared her personal journey in NVSU, inspiring members of the University community to remain steadfast in upholding the values of public service and to carry out their responsibilities with passion, integrity, and excellence.

As part of the program, faculty and staff who celebrated their birthdays in June, July, and August were recognized. The University also formally welcomed its newly hired employees, highlighting the continuous growth of the NVSU family.

Also recognized during the ceremony was the Quirinian Students’ Organization - NVSU Bayombong Chapter, which presented its award as the Most Innovative and Distinguished Youth (MIDY) under the Youth Organization Category during the 2026 Buwan ng Kabataan Culminating Activity, conferred by the Provincial Government of Quirino.

ADVISORY | WALANG PASOK

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 65 issued by the Office of the Governor of Nueva Vizcaya, classes at all levels and work in all government offices within the province are suspended today, September 1, 2026, in conformity with Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 133 and in anticipation of inclement weather brought by persistent heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced southwest monsoon.

Accordingly, classes and work in both campuses of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) are likewise suspended today, September 1, 2026.

LOOK | University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr., through his official page, announces that, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 133, effective September 1, 2026:

• NVSU employees, including COS and JO personnel, shall adopt Work-from-Home (WFH) as an alternative mode of work; and

• Classes for NVSU students are suspended.

An official memorandum will follow. All concerned are advised to be guided accordingly.

ADVISORY | In view of the announced suspension of classes in all levels, both public and private, and pursuant to the directive of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya in line with Memorandum Circular No. 133, classes in both campuses (Bayombong and Bambang) of Nueva Vizcaya State University are suspended tomorrow, September 1.

ADVISORY | As Nueva Vizcaya is included among the areas covered under Memorandum Circular No. 133, both campuses of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) shall observe the appropriate directives set forth in the said memorandum on September 1, 2026, in anticipation of continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Accordingly, alternative work arrangements shall be implemented for university personnel, while alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be adopted for students.

The NVSU community is advised to await further announcements regarding the specific arrangements and implementation guidelines for both campuses.
