With the oath taken, the 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀.𝐘. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 begin a year of service that asks for more than titles. 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐌 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 — 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝟐! 🫂⭐️

Our 𝟐𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝟑𝒓𝒅 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑶𝑻𝒆𝒆𝒔 brought the kind of warmth that made the room feel like home. 🏡 What started as two year levels quickly felt like one, especially when the intermission numbers had everyone cheering, laughing, and simply enjoying the moment together. There was something special about seeing everyone so comfortable, so present, and so 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. 🤲🏻

That same sense of belonging carried through the messages shared by a 𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝟔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒆 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝑶𝑻𝑳𝑬, alongside our 𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 messages from OTs beyond our shores. 🌎✈️ For a few hours, we were reminded that OT is more than the places we study or work in — it is the people we meet, the community we build, and the feeling that wherever we go, we have a place to belong.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀! 🤝🏻 Our 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝗧𝗲𝗲𝘀 officially met the community they’ll be growing with, while our 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝗧𝗲𝗲𝘀 stepped up as the department’s certified 𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝘂𝘆𝗮𝘀. ✊🏻 From getting to know one another to hearing stories from those a few steps ahead, Batch 1 definitely had a little bit of everything. ✈️

And because no OT journey is complete without a little inspiration, our OTees also got to hear words that went beyond the classroom — from a 𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝟔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒆 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝑶𝑻𝑳𝑬 to messages from OTs beyond our shores through 𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. 🌎 Different stages, different places, but one profession that keeps bringing us together.

𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐚 𝐧𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚? 🏡☀️

Every group has that one person who remembers the little things, checks on everyone, and keeps things together. For us, that person is our 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 – 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹, 𝑳𝒆𝒂 𝑻. 𝑫𝒆 𝑻𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒔. ⛅️ Beyond her role, Lea has become someone we genuinely 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯. She keeps us organized, looks after the people around her, and brings a kind of 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕 that makes OTC feel a little more like home. 🤲🏻⛅️

Kyle McCreight, OTR, has spent ten years as an occupational therapist at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. He has also spent four seasons taking on the course on American Ninja Warrior, reaching the semifinals every time.

The two are more connected than they look. Kyle uses his platform on the show to raise money for medical equipment for children with limb differences through the Never Say Never Foundation, where he has volunteered for about five years. And his biggest fan on the sidelines is Tre, the rescue dog who lost a leg as a puppy and learned to walk and balance again with the help of Kyle's therapy background. Tre is now a certified therapy dog.

𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞, 𝑶𝑻𝒆𝒆𝒔! 🧩❤️

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵! From 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 🏫 and 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 to new faces, new places, class suspensions, and a few unexpected plot twists, our first years got their first taste of campus life. Between finding classrooms, exploring the campus, and meeting their fellow OTees, it was a week full of firsts. And by the end of it, hopefully, everyone could finally say, “𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥.” 🫵🏻

Today, we celebrate our 𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 and 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗧𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗲 𝗔. 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮, 𝗢𝗧𝗥𝗣, 𝗠𝗦𝗖𝗣𝗗, 𝗣𝗵𝗗, and someone who has given so much to the 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. 🧩❤️ Through your work, mentorship, and dedication, you have helped shape students, guide future OTs, and contribute to the growth of the profession we are proud to be part of.

For us in OTC, we’re especially grateful for the way you continue to show up for us—with patience, honesty, guidance, and even the occasional reality check when we need one. 🫂 You’ve taught us much more than what can be found in a classroom. We’ve learned from the way you lead, the way you work with people, and the way you continue to make time for the community around you.

We’re genuinely proud to have you as our mentor and adviser, and even prouder to witness the impact you continue to make in OT. We hope this year brings you good health, meaningful moments, well-deserved rest, and many more things to be proud of. Happy birthday, Doc! 🎂❤️
