DLSU Integrated School Delegates Head to Japan for HJRP 2026!

Last August 17–22, 2026, DLSU Integrated School delegates embarked on an enriching journey to Japan as part of the Hybrid Joint Research Program (HJRP) 2026.

The visit was filled with meaningful learning experiences and memorable moments. Our students participated in the Youth Center Adventure Program (YCAP), strengthening teamwork, building friendships, and stepping outside their comfort zones. They also conducted data collection for their joint research projects and presented their progress to students, parents, and teachers—putting their ideas into action alongside their Japanese peers from the Institute of Science Tokyo High School.

Beyond research and scheduled activities, one of the most meaningful parts of the journey was the opportunity to bond with host families. Through shared meals, conversations, and everyday experiences, our students gained a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture while creating connections that cross borders.

More than just a trip, the HJRP experience was a true journey of research, friendship, cultural exchange, and discovery. As our delegates return home with new knowledge, cherished memories, and lasting connections, their journey continues through their ongoing collaborative research projects.

In a world where technology is part of our everyday lives, how can we, as a family, build healthier and more intentional digital habits together?

The Guidance and Counseling Unit (GCU) of De La Salle University Integrated School invites all Lasallian parents and partners to the inaugural Learning Village session on September 3, 2026 (Thursday), from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM via Zoom, featuring Mr. Bon Homme Torres, MA, RGC.

Together, let’s talk about setting healthy boundaries, navigating the digital world, keeping communication open, and finding a better balance between screen time and family time.

The program will also include grade-level sessions with your respective home-school collaborative counselor (Kagabay) for important updates and plans for the school year.

Because building healthier digital habits is not just a responsibility for our children—it is something we can work on together as a family.

We proudly congratulate Ms. Mikaela Maria Isabel Soriano, JHS English Teacher, and Mr. Christian Paolo Hernandez, Arts Teacher, for presenting their research at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Hong Kong, held last July 23–24, 2026.

Title of Research: "Motivation, Engagement, and Mastery: A Qualitative Study of Wayground in Game-Based Pedagogy"

Their insightful work underscores the power of gamified learning in strengthening student motivation, engagement, and mastery through purposeful teacher facilitation.

Thank you, Ms. Soriano and Mr. Hernandez, for driving research-informed, innovative teaching that continues to inspire the Lasallian community!

🌍 Empowering the Next Generation of Global Leaders!

From July 16–18, 2026, students from Grades 7–12 embarked on an inspiring leadership journey through the HPAIR Leadership Program, held at the John Gokongwei Innovation Center.

Over three days of immersive learning, participants explored pressing global issues, engaged in collaborative workshops, and developed the knowledge and skills needed to become leaders who create meaningful change. The program was made even more memorable with the visit of two mentors from Harvard University, who shared their insights, experiences, and encouragement, inspiring our students to pursue leadership with purpose and confidence.

One of the highlights of the program was the presentation of the students' Passion Projects, where they showcased innovative ideas and community-based initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Their presentations demonstrated creativity, critical thinking, and a deep commitment to addressing real-world challenges through sustainable solutions.

We are incredibly proud of our student delegates for representing our school with excellence, curiosity, and the Lasallian spirit of service. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Harvard College Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) and our Harvard mentors for creating an enriching platform that empowered our students to think globally and lead with impact.

📢 Presentation Alert

Congratulations to Mr. Leonardo Quimson Jr., Junior High School CLVE/GMRC Teacher, for presenting his research paper, "Echoes of Christ: A Revisit on Catechesis in Relation to Current Challenges in Religious Education," at the University of South Africa (UNISA) via Zoom last July 17–21, 2026.

His research reexamines the Church's understanding of catechesis in addressing the challenges of contemporary religious education. It highlights the importance of Christ-centered, holistic, and authentic faith formation that equips learners to live, celebrate, and share their faith in today's rapidly changing world.
