Hosted by Princess Hagopit and Ruben Lachica, the Mr. and Ms. Criminology 2025 pageant was one of the most anticipated highlights of Day 3 of the Criminology Week 2025 celebration. To open the program, Dr. Mitchelle F. Lopez, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice, delivered her message and thanked everyone for attending, especially the guests.

Following the opening remarks, the program started with a spectacular production number by the candidates, who showcased their denim collection, demonstrating creativity, coordination, and stage presence. After the production number, students representing their respective schools competed in the pageant segments, displaying confidence, poise, and composure throughout the competition.

In addition to showcasing style and presentation, environmental advocacy served as the central theme of the pageant. Candidates presented advocacies promoting environmental awareness and protection, which were further highlighted during the interview and question-and-answer segments that focused on environmental issues. This allowed the audience to see that criminology students can articulate meaningful perspectives beyond physical presentation.

Before crowning their successors, the reigning Mr. and Ms. Criminology 2024, Mr. Lester Requilme and Ms. Mickey Julian, took their final walk, marking the conclusion of their term and formally passing their crowns to the new titleholders.

Ultimately, the competition was tight, with candidates delivering remarkable performances in every segment. After careful deliberation, the judges made their decisions. Carl Joseph S. Jalando-on of the School of Classical emerged as Mr. Criminology 2025, while Mary Glyneth Gabunilas of the School of Contemporary was crowned Ms. Criminology 2025, bringing the pageant to a triumphant and memorable close.

IN PHOTOS | DAY 3 OF CRIMINOLOGY WEEK 2025

Day 3 of Criminology Week 2025 was marked by activities that emphasized professional preparation, social responsibility, and unity among Criminology students. Fourth Year Criminology students participated in a PNP Career Orientation aimed at preparing them for future careers in law enforcement.

The orientation was led by PCPT Rodrigo D. Martinez Jr., Chief of Police of the Municipality of Binalbagan, who provided an in-depth discussion on the Philippine National Police recruitment process, career opportunities, and the ethical standards expected of police officers. He also shared practical insights on the challenges of police work and encouraged students to develop discipline, integrity, and a strong sense of public service.

Alongside the career orientation, the Organization of Criminology Students (OCS) carried out an outreach program for selected Criminology students who were severely affected by the recent typhoon. As part of the initiative, food packs were distributed to assist the beneficiaries and to express solidarity during their recovery.

The day further featured a Unity Lunch, where the four Schools of Thought came together in a gathering that promoted camaraderie, cooperation, and mutual respect. The activity served as an opportunity for students and faculty to strengthen bonds and reflect on the shared values of the criminology community.

Day 3 activities highlighted the department’s commitment not only to academic and professional excellence but also to compassion, unity, and serviceβ€”core values upheld throughout Criminology Week 2025.
