The University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP) proudly presents the alumni from the College of Teacher Education who passed the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers. UEP also earned an overall passing rate of 83.19% for Secondary Education and 82.35% for Elementary Education, both surpassing the national passing rate.

This achievement of the UEP reflects the university’s commitment to maintaining quality education that produces professionals who can bring impact both locally and globally.

The story of Joy Esquejo, a former UEP scholar and now a professional at the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), reflects the enduring impact of educational opportunity.

Her achievement serves as a reminder that when students are given access to higher education, they are empowered to pursue their goals, contribute to their communities, and create better futures for themselves and their families.

The University of Eastern Pangasinan extends its heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Ramon V. Guico III for his vision in establishing UEP and opening the doors of higher education to countless Pangasinenses. Through this institution, many students have been given the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.

As we celebrate Joy's journey, we also celebrate the vision that made stories like hers possible.

The University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP), through the Office of University Research, held the 2026 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝟓-𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 (𝐔𝟓𝐌𝐑𝐂) on 14 May 2026 at the Don Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.

Eleven students from different colleges showcased their research in a clear, concise, and compelling manner in under five minutes. The following researchers emerged as winners:

Now in its second year, the U5MRC continues to strengthen UEP’s commitment to fostering a culture of research, innovation, and academic excellence among its students.

𝗨𝗘𝗣 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘂𝗺, 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗕𝗥𝗔 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻


The University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP), through the Office of University Research, conducted the 2026 UEP Research Colloquium. The event and the launch of OBRA: Official Binalonan Research Archive were held on May 14, 2026, at the Don Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.

The event was anchored on the theme, "Cultivating a Culture of Research and Innovation at the University of Eastern Pangasinan." It highlighted the university’s commitment to research, innovation, and academic excellence.

To showcase the breadth of ongoing research at UEP, the colloquium featured three sessions highlighting different focus areas.

Session 1, Community Development and Health, was chaired by Jeofrey B. Abalos. It featured studies on community-based climate action, indigenous community development, and maternal and newborn care. Presenters included Mona Liza D. Abanes, Abegail Dulay, and Zorayda L. Gille.

Session 2, Technology and Social Media, was chaired by Adrian Jay T. De Leon. It highlighted research on web portal security, AI-driven attendance systems, and the effects of social media consumption among students. Presenters were Evelyn Naño, Arjay Mapanao, and John Mark A. Floralde.

Session 3, Education and Employment, was chaired by Jolina Reyes. It focused on teaching competencies, conceptual understanding in mathematics, and employment realities of Filipino youth. Presenters were James Gabriel, Ariel C. Lopez, and Dino S. Dizon.

Mona Liza D. Abanes, dean of the College of Business Education, was awarded the Best Presenter for her research titled “Empowering Local Voices and Perspectives: Community-Based Approaches on Climate Change Action.”

In addition to the research presentations, the program featured the launch of OBRA: Official Binalonan Research Archive, a publication containing abstracts and executive summaries of UEP students' research projects.

Following the launch, OBRA was ceremonially turned over to the UEP Library, alumni, and student representatives. In response, Rebecca Tique (UEP Library), Benny R. Pino Jr. (alumni representative), and Harold M. Pablo (student representative) delivered their remarks.

The colloquium also included a plenary lecture by Dr. Gloria C. Nemedez, vice president for research, innovation, training, and extension. She highlighted the importance of research and innovation in higher education and community development.
