The University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP), through its College of Engineering, marked a historic milestone by conducting its first-ever Hard Hatting and Pinning Ceremony for Civil Engineering students on May 7, 2026, at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Civic Center.

Anchored on the theme, โ€œBuilding Futures in a Dynamic World of Gratitude, Humility, and Excellence,โ€ the ceremony symbolized the studentsโ€™ formal entry into the field of engineering and their commitment to service, innovation, and professional responsibility.

University officials and engineering professionals shared words of inspiration and encouragement, reminding students that engineering is not only about building structures, but also about building communities, solving real-world problems, and creating a lasting impact on society.

University President Evelyn Abalos-Tomboc emphasized the vital role of engineers in nation-building and sustainable development, urging students to remain grounded in integrity, compassion, and excellence as they pursue their profession. Meanwhile, Dean Ferdinand T. Chua encouraged students to uphold perseverance, humility, and excellence throughout their academic and professional journey.

The event also featured the symbolic hard hatting and pinning rites, commitment messages from faculty members and students, and inspiring insights from guest engineers, who encouraged the future builders to embrace lifelong learning, resilience, and growth.

As UEP continues to strengthen its engineering program, the ceremony stands as a testament to the universityโ€™s dedication to producing competent, innovative, and socially responsive future engineers ready to build a better tomorrow.

With pride and honor, the University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP) extends its congratulations to the UEP-College of Teacher Education alumni for passing the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.

UEP is also delighted to share that the UEP-CTE has made another achievement for surpassing once again the national passing rate on both the elementary and secondary levels. UEP-CTE earns an 82.35% passing rate for the elementary level and 83.19% for the secondary level.

The University of Eastern Pangasinan earned two notable recognitions during the Joint Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Newly Registered Criminologists and New Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) Members held on May 11, 2026, at the Urdaneta City Sports and Cultural Center.

The University was recognized by the Professional Regulatory Board for Criminology for its commendable performance in the February 2026 Licensure Examination for Criminologists after posting an 82.26% passing rate under the 101โ€“199 examinees category.
In addition, the institution received a Special Recognition as one of the Top Performing Schools in Region I under Category B (101โ€“199 examinees).

The achievement reflects the Universityโ€™s continuing commitment to excellence in criminology education and the collective dedication of its administrators, faculty members, students, alumni, and graduates.

This milestone was made possible by the support and leadership of Dr. Evelyn Abalos-Tomboc, university president; Dr. Aldrin Tarangco, dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE); and the CCJE program heads. Their guidance and commitment continue to strengthen the Universityโ€™s pursuit of academic excellence.
