Strengthening Partnerships Through Collaboration: NEMSU–Bislig Joins LPMC Meeting and Field Visit

The NEMSU–Bislig Campus, through the Extension Services and Linkages Office, attended the Project Committee Monthly Meeting and Field Visit of the LGU–Bislig Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) and the City Planning and Development Office.

The meeting was presided over by Engr. Edilberto G. Carmen, EnP, MPA, City Planning and Development Coordinator and LPMC Chairperson, together with the other LPMC members. Representing NEMSU–Bislig were Ms. Ivy L. Archua, RSW, JD, Extension Services and Linkages Head; Ms. Joebemarie V. Obligado, University Extension Associate I; and Engr. Christian T. Coquilla, Faculty.

The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination and explore potential areas for future collaboration, supporting shared initiatives and community development efforts. 💙

Project WELDT Continues: Nurturing Strong Minds, Building a Resilient Manobo Community

Project WELDT: Wo-Men Empowerment through Livelihood and Digital Training continues with Training Session 2: Emotional Intelligence for a Resilient Manobo Community at the MATRICOSOBA Tribal Hall, P-6, Sitio Sote.

The session featured a series of engaging activities facilitated by Ms. Ginalyn P. Estose, RGC, Project Member and Resource Speaker, designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and healthy ways of responding to emotions and challenges.

The activity was conducted with Dr. Myrna T. Alferez, Project Leader, and Mr. RVGlen M. Cubarol, RL, Project Member, with the full support of the Extension Services and Linkages Office.

Through meaningful learning and shared experiences, Project WELDT continues to empower the Manobo community by building emotional strength, resilience, and skills that can support their well-being.

NEMSU–Bislig Joins “Biyaheng Kat-On, Serbisyo Caravan and Stakeholder’s Forum”

As a member of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Committee (MSAC), North Eastern Mindanao State University was invited to participate in the “Biyaheng Kat-On, Serbisyo Caravan and Stakeholder’s Forum” held on September 3, 2026, at Barangay San Roque, Lingig, Surigao del Sur.

Representing NEMSU in the activity was NEMSU–Bislig Campus, which joined various stakeholders and partner agencies in the community gathering. As part of its participation, the Campus also distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials featuring NEMSU’s programs and extension services.

NEMSU–Bislig Campus is grateful for the opportunity to participate and contribute as part of the MSAC, strengthening its commitment to meaningful partnerships and community service. 💙

A Skill for Generations: Preserving Manobo Beadwork Through Project WELDT

The implementation of Project WELDT: Wo-Men Empowerment through Livelihood and Digital Training continues with Training Lesson 1: Panuhugtuhog, Manobo Traditional Beadwork, held at the MATRICOSOBA Tribal Hall, P-6, Sitio Sote.

The activity was warmly welcomed by Datu Sayaw Rodino Domogoy, and included an introductory discussion by Ms. Louella Jane B. Gabato, University Research Associate II, on the overview and significance of beadwork. This was followed by a hands-on session facilitated by Ms. Janette Basco-Igot, Trainer/Resource Speaker, where participants were guided in learning traditional beadwork techniques.

The training was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Myrna T. Alferez, Project Leader, together with the Project Members and with the full support of the Extension Services and Linkages Office.

Through this activity, Project WELDT continues to help preserve traditional skills, promote livelihood opportunities, and pass on the knowledge of Manobo beadwork from one generation to the next.
