The AB Political Science Student Organization - ABSO held its General Assembly at the MarSU Sta. Cruz Student Center.

This gathering marked more than just reports and elections — it is the beginning of a stronger, more united, and purpose driven AB Political Science community.

During the assembly, ABSO presented its Accomplishment Report and Financial Report to uphold transparency and accountability. And the most awaited part, the organization conducted an election for its new set of officers who will lead for AY 2026-2027.

Here’s to integrity, leadership, and the shared commitment of service to fellow students and to the nation.

BOAC, Marinduque — The College of Governance of Marinduque State University – Boac Campus successfully conducted 𝙋𝘼𝙉𝙄𝙈𝙐𝙇𝘼: 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 2026 on July 28, 2026, from 8:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the MarSU Canopy. The activity gathered Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) students for the General Assembly and Student Orientation in preparation for the Academic Year 2026–2027.

The program opened with the Preliminaries and was facilitated by the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Hide Yasu Y. Nakajima, from the opening until the conclusion of the activity.

The event officially commenced with the Welcome Remarks delivered by Dr. Keam Eric L. Malabayabas, Dean of the College of Governance, who encouraged students to pursue academic excellence and uphold the values of leadership and public service.

The program featured a series of Inspirational Messages from university officials. Dr. Leodegario Jalos Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs and regarded as the Ninong of the Bachelor of Public Administration Program, emphasized the significance of Public Administration in nation-building. Dr. Verna Liza L. Capiña, Vice President for Student Affairs and now affectionately recognized as the "Tita" of the College of Governance, highlighted the Good Governance Indicators and the role of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) in promoting student welfare and development. Meanwhile, Dr. Romulo H. Malvar, one of the founders of the College of Governance and currently the Career and Job Placement Head of Marinduque State University, underscored the importance of professionalism, perseverance, and career preparedness.

The Program Reorientation was facilitated by Dr. Anne Grace M. Labatete, Program Chairperson of the Bachelor of Public Administration Program, who discussed the curriculum, academic policies, and other institutional guidelines.

During the JPSPA Reorientation, Ms. Roselle Q. Young, JPSPA President, presented the organization's Accomplishment Report, followed by the Financial Report presented by Ms. Jesrel Asajar and the presentation of the organization's Target Activities by Mr. Dhan Michael Layosa.

The activity continued with an Open Forum, allowing students to raise questions and seek clarification on academic matters, before concluding with the Closing Remarks delivered by Konsehal Tino Manrique.

Boac, Marinduque | July 30, 2026 — The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) Program of the College of Governance, in partnership with the Junior Philippine Society for Public Administration (JPSPA), successfully conducted the PAnimula: BPA Freshmen and Parents/Guardian Orientation at the MarSU Canopy.

Hosted by Ms. Analisa Largado as the Master of Ceremony, the activity welcomed incoming BPA freshmen and their parents and guardians through an orientation that introduced the academic program, university policies, student services, and career opportunities in Public Administration.

The program featured a Welcome Message from Dr. Keam Eric L. Malabayabas, who emphasized discipline, academic excellence, and the expectations of BPA students. An Inspirational Message from Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos Jr. was delivered through a letter, encouraging freshmen to pursue excellence and uphold the values of public service. Dr. Verna Liza L. Capiña discussed the role of Public Administration, student services, and the importance of partnership between the University and parents. A Special Message from the former MarSU President and current Head of the Career and Job Placement Office, Dr. Romulo H. Malvar, highlighted career opportunities, academic excellence, and professional growth for future Public Administration graduates.

The orientation proper was facilitated by Dr. Anne Grace M. Labatete, who discussed the Bachelor of Public Administration program, academic policies, curriculum, grading system, student expectations, and other important guidelines for incoming 1st Year college and the parents/guardians.

The Junior Philippine Society for Public Administration (JPSPA) orientation was presented by Roselle Q. Young, JPSPA President, who introduced the organization's mission, vision, objectives, and the opportunities it offers in developing student leadership and public service. This was followed by the presentation of the JPSPA membership fee and other membership guidelines by the Financial Officer Jesrel Asajar. The program concluded with an open forum, a photo opportunity, and a campus tour led by the JPSPA officers, allowing the freshmen to become more familiar with the university's facilities and academic environment.

The College of Governance proudly offers the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (BA PoS)—a program that develops critically thinking, socially responsible, and ethically grounded individuals committed to national development, good governance, and global citizenship.

The BA PoS program operates under CMO No. 030, Series of 2019, and is authorized by Republic Act No. 7319, ensuring quality standards and academic excellence in political education.
