Boac, Marinduque | July 30, 2026 โ The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) Program of the College of Governance, in partnership with the Junior Philippine Society for Public Administration (JPSPA), successfully conducted the PAnimula: BPA Freshmen and Parents/Guardian Orientation at the MarSU Canopy.
Hosted by Ms. Analisa Largado as the Master of Ceremony, the activity welcomed incoming BPA freshmen and their parents and guardians through an orientation that introduced the academic program, university policies, student services, and career opportunities in Public Administration.
The program featured a Welcome Message from Dr. Keam Eric L. Malabayabas, who emphasized discipline, academic excellence, and the expectations of BPA students. An Inspirational Message from Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos Jr. was delivered through a letter, encouraging freshmen to pursue excellence and uphold the values of public service. Dr. Verna Liza L. Capiรฑa discussed the role of Public Administration, student services, and the importance of partnership between the University and parents. A Special Message from the former MarSU President and current Head of the Career and Job Placement Office, Dr. Romulo H. Malvar, highlighted career opportunities, academic excellence, and professional growth for future Public Administration graduates.
The orientation proper was facilitated by Dr. Anne Grace M. Labatete, who discussed the Bachelor of Public Administration program, academic policies, curriculum, grading system, student expectations, and other important guidelines for incoming 1st Year college and the parents/guardians.
The Junior Philippine Society for Public Administration (JPSPA) orientation was presented by Roselle Q. Young, JPSPA President, who introduced the organization's mission, vision, objectives, and the opportunities it offers in developing student leadership and public service. This was followed by the presentation of the JPSPA membership fee and other membership guidelines by the Financial Officer Jesrel Asajar. The program concluded with an open forum, a photo opportunity, and a campus tour led by the JPSPA officers, allowing the freshmen to become more familiar with the university's facilities and academic environment.
