𝗦𝗨𝗖 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

University President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta joined the plenary deliberations on the proposed FY 2027 budget for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) held on September 23, 2026, at the Plenary Hall of the House of Representatives, Quezon City.

The discussions focused on key funding needs of SUCs, including support under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, campus infrastructure and other capital outlay requirements, as well as operating funds for faculty development and academic programs.

The committee later concluded its deliberations on the SUC budget, allowing the proposed allocations to move forward to the next stages of the national budget process toward their possible inclusion in the General Appropriations Bill (GAB).

Joining PDPZ were Asso. Prof. Lenie P. Zulueta, Executive Assistant and Dr. Alfredo M. Ofrecio III, Director for Financial Services/Chief, PMS.

University President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta and the entire MarSU community extend warmest congratulations to Ms. Mila Grace D. Gutierrez, Planning Officer III of the Planning Unit, for her participation in the “Future-Ready Data Skills for Smarter Higher Education Systems in the Philippines” training program.

The training was offered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in partnership with SEAMEO INNOTECH, providing an opportunity to further develop data skills relevant to higher education planning and decision-making.

Representing InUni Global, Mr. William San Juan paid a courtesy visit to University President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta on September 15, 2026, at the Office of the President, Main Campus, Boac.

During the visit, discussions centered on potential collaboration opportunities that may enhance MarSU’s international linkages, broaden access to global educational opportunities, and strengthen the University’s engagement with international students, institutions, and education partners.

InUni Global, a division of Global University Systems (GUS), works with universities on internationalization initiatives, including international student recruitment, transnational education, program development, and global expansion. It maintains a network of campuses, partners, and regional offices across various regions worldwide.

Representing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis led the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” in Marinduque on September 14, 2026, at the Capitol Compound in Bangbangalon, Boac.

Chairperson Agrupis was joined by Marinduque Representative Congressman Reynaldo Salvacion, Vice Governor Romulo Bacorro Jr., Marinduque State University (MarSU) President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta, and other local officials and government representatives in bringing essential programs and services closer to Marinduqueño communities.

The initiative brought together national and local government agencies to deliver a wide range of assistance covering health and nutrition, employment and livelihood, agriculture, education and skills development, social welfare, legal and financial assistance, and public safety.

MarSU also participated in the initiative by providing services to students and community members, including assistance related to the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), the release of Transcripts of Records (TOR), guidance and counseling, and information on the University’s academic offerings.

Supporting the higher education sector’s participation was CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director Dr. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, alongside presidents of participating state universities and colleges (SUCs), including SLSU President Dr. Frederick C. Villa, LSPU President Dr. Mario Briones, and RSU President Dr. Merian C. Mani.

MarSU President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta attended the reappointment and rededication of Sorsogon State University (SorSU) President Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus during a Rededication Ceremony held on September 11, 2026, at the Sorsogon Convention Center, Sorsogon City.

Anchored on the theme “Renewed Leadership, Shared Commitment, Transformative Excellence,” the ceremony marked Dr. De Jesus’ renewed commitment to lead SorSU in its continued pursuit of academic excellence, innovation, institutional development, and meaningful service to its stakeholders.

The gathering brought together CHED Commissioners, SUCs Presidents, government officials, members of the SorSU Board of Regents, institutional partners, and other distinguished guests who joined the SorSU community in celebrating the occasion.

The rededication rites included the reading of the Board of Regents resolution on Dr. De Jesus’ reappointment, the oath of office, the re-vesting of the academic gown and hood, and the conferral of the President’s Medallion.

MarSU extends its congratulations to Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus on her reappointment and wishes her continued success as she leads Sorsogon State University toward greater horizons.

The Marinduque State University community, led by Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta, joins the nation in celebrating the Philippines’ remarkable gains in the 2025 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

The Philippines achieved its highest-ever PISA performance, with scores rising by 20 points in Reading (367), 17 points in Science (373), and 16 points in Mathematics (371) from 2022. The country was also recognized as the fastest improving in Reading among participating education systems.

This milestone reflects the collective efforts of our learners, teachers, school leaders, and education partners, as well as the leadership of the Department of Education.
