A Legacy of Partnership in Saving Lives ❤️🩸

DYCI-CHS is deeply honored to receive this Plaque of Appreciation from the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), in recognition of our unwavering commitment to supporting voluntary blood donation. The award was proudly received on behalf of DYCI by Mr. Luther Siosana and Mr. Rev Bernardo, faculty members of the College of Health Sciences.

For decades, DYCI has proudly stood alongside NKTI in promoting safe, adequate, and life-saving blood supplies through our regular mobile blood donation drives. This recognition is more than an award—it is a testament to what can be achieved when institutions unite for a shared mission of service and compassion.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to NKTI for this meaningful recognition and, more importantly, for your enduring partnership and trust through the years. Together, we have inspired countless students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to become blood donors and advocates for saving lives.

This recognition reaffirms our shared commitment to service, compassion, and community health. As we continue this partnership, DYCI remains steadfast in promoting a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility, advancing Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through voluntary blood donation and Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaborations that create meaningful and lasting impact. Together, we continue to save lives—one blood donation at a time. 🩸❤️

How Dean Delos Reyes Built Excellence When Nursing Education Needed It Most

As healthcare education continues to evolve amid workforce shortages and global demands, one nursing leader has quietly demonstrated that lasting excellence is built not in easy times, but through resilience, integrity, and unwavering service. In Bocaue, Philippines, Dr. Teodora Delos Reyes has spent decades shaping future nurses whose impact now reaches healthcare systems around the world.

July 2026 / BEST Healthcare Rankings

For 36 years, Dr. Teodora Delos Reyes has served as Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Dr. Yanga's Colleges Inc., leading the institution through faculty shortages, financial constraints, educational reforms, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than allowing these challenges to weaken academic quality, she strengthened it—mentoring faculty, maximizing limited resources, embracing flexible learning, and forging stronger partnerships with healthcare institutions to ensure students continued receiving meaningful clinical education.

Holding a Doctor of Nursing Science from Philippine Women's University, a Master of Arts in Nursing from Philippine Women's University, and an active Registered Nurse license, Dr. Delos Reyes exemplifies lifelong learning. Her leadership earned the College of Nursing Level IV PACUCOA accreditation in 2024—the highest accreditation level—and, in 2026, she successfully launched the institution's first Master of Science in Nursing program. A two-time Gawad Galing awardee (2024 and 2025), she also serves actively in the Philippine Nurses Association and the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing.

Integrity has remained central to her leadership. When outdated clinical teaching practices no longer reflected current standards, she chose collaboration over confrontation. She reviewed the evidence, engaged faculty in open dialogue, organized professional development, and strengthened clinical partnerships—ensuring graduates remained ethical, competent, and globally competitive while preserving trust among colleagues.

Her transparent leadership likewise strengthened confidence across interdisciplinary teams. By involving faculty and clinical partners in decision-making and applying standards consistently, she cultivated a culture of accountability that continues to produce graduates with board examination performances above the national average, including multiple board topnotchers who now serve both in the Philippines and abroad.

Dr. Delos Reyes embodies the mission of BEST Healthcare Rankings—Building Excellence through Service and Trust. Through steadfast leadership, ethical practice, and an enduring commitment to academic excellence, she elevates the nursing profession, proving that true leadership is measured not only by visible achievements but also by the quiet trust it inspires for generations to come.
