”Seminar on Workplace Ethics and Digital Adaptability: Preparing BA History Future Practitioners for Office Deployment”
The Day 2 seminar was held on October 17, 2025, at the MSU-TCTO Marine Science Museum, aiming to prepare BA History interns for their upcoming office deployment by equipping them with essential workplace values, ethics, and digital competencies.
The event gathered distinguished speakers who sought to inspire, guide, and prepare future practitioners.
In the morning session, Ms. Ana Mae R. Kingking, Staff from the Office of the Chancellor, discussed Professional Workplace Etiquette, emphasizing effective communication, proper dress code, and workplace decorum. She reminded the interns that professionalism is reflected not only in skills but also in manners and respect for others.
Mr. Nikko D. Chua, Faculty from the Department of Management, talked about Time Management and Productivity, encouraging the interns to prioritize tasks efficiently and meet deadlines responsibly. He shared practical strategies to maintain focus and balance workloads in a professional setting.
Asst. Prof. Rushaida A. Muham, Faculty of the Department of Management, discussed Customer Service and Frontline Interaction, highlighting the importance of courtesy, empathy, and active engagement when dealing with stakeholders and clients.
In the afternoon session, Ms. Roddalyn A. Lee, Staff from the College of Arts and Sciences, shared insights on Adapting to ICT in the Workplace, discussing digital tools, communication platforms, and information management practices essential in today’s technology-driven offices.
Finally, Mr. Jerimy I. Edubos, Student Coordinator from the College of Arts and Sciences, tackled Ethics and Confidentiality in the Workplace, emphasizing the value of integrity and the responsible handling of information.
The speakers expressed their willingness to guide and support the BA History interns as they transition into the professional field, encouraging them to uphold excellence and integrity in their work.
The Department of History continues to support its interns by organizing seminars that prepare them for professional environments—enhancing their work ethics, productivity, and digital adaptability as future practitioners.
