𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗴 | 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 (𝘾𝘽𝘼𝙈) took a major step forward today in its commitment to community development! Led by Project Leader Assoc. Prof. Calvin Caliat, the CBAM team conducted a vital community meeting at Barangay Tubig Basag. With the invaluable support of the barangay officials, led by their dedicated Barangay Chairwoman Hon. Sitti Raiza Adong, the team brought residents together to lay the groundwork for a brighter, more sustainable future.

During the assembly, the team presented the findings of their recent survey and discussed the community's needs assessment. This allowed everyone to look closely at the true "heart of the people"—understanding the daily realities, challenges, and aspirations of the local farmers, and showing exactly how the upcoming projects will address those needs. To ensure the community has a strong, unified voice moving forward, the attendees also officially elected the officers for their soon-to-be-registered Farmers Association.

This initiative directly uplifts Barangay Tubig Basag by transforming individual farming efforts into a structured, organized enterprise. By establishing a formal Farmers Association, the community gains significantly stronger collective bargaining power, better access to government agricultural grants, and direct pathways to broader markets. Furthermore, CBAM’s expertise will bridge the gap between traditional farming and modern business management, equipping the farmers with essential financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and sustainable livelihood strategies that will boost their income and foster long-term economic stability.

The MSU-TCTO College of Business, Accountancy, and Management (CBAM) is now accepting applicants for the BS Accountancy Bridging/Review Program.

Please secure the following requirements for submission:

- Form 138 / Report Card

- SASE Result / CET Result (for Freshmen)

- 2X2 Picture

- Registration Fee

Important Dates to Remember:

- Enrollment Period: May 25 & May 28 – 29, 2026

- Start of Classes: June 1, 2026

- Qualifying Exam Registration: July 3 – 7, 2026

- Qualifying Exam Date: July 8, 2026

ANNOUNCEMENT

The MSU-TCTO Department of Accountancy announces that the MSU-SASE cut-off score for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) program is 80.

Applicants who obtained an MSU-SASE score of 80 and above are qualified to take the BSA Qualifying Examination.

A Bridging Course will also be made available to assist qualified applicants, especially non-ABM Senior High Strand graduates, in preparing for the qualifying examination and the academic demands of the program.

The schedule and other details for the BSA Qualifying Examination and the Bridging Course will be announced soon.

Interested and qualified applicants are encouraged to stay updated and prepare for the next step toward becoming future Certified Public Accountants.

Students with an MSU-SASE score of 𝟔𝟗–𝟕𝟗 may still be considered, provided that they meet the following conditions:

Mark your calendars, future BSA students!

Applicants are advised to take note of the important dates for the Bridging Program and the BSA Qualifying Examination.

Enrollment for the Bridging Program will be on May 25–29, while application for the Qualifying Examination will run from May 25 to June 15. Bridging Program classes will be held from June 1 to July 3, and the Qualifying Examination is scheduled on July 8.

Please be informed that the Bridging Program is not a requirement for taking the Qualifying Examination. It is offered only to assist non-ABM Senior High School graduates in preparing for the examination and the academic demands of the BS Accountancy program.

with the Barangay Leaders of Barangay Tubig Basag, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗸𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗮, together with their team, visited the 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗴 led by their 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘇𝗮 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗴.

During the meeting, Project Leader Caliat presented to the barangay leaders the consolidated results of the survey conducted among residents of Tubig Basag. The data provided valuable insights into the community’s farming practices—covering the types of crops cultivated, the number of years families have been engaged in planting, and the average lot sizes dedicated to agriculture. These findings offered a clear picture of the community’s agricultural foundation and the opportunities for strengthening productivity.

The project leaders presented the community’s need for financial literacy programs, value addition to farm products, and enterprise development. They emphasized the importance of equipping farmers and small entrepreneurs with practical knowledge and skills to manage finances effectively, increase the value of their crops, and establish possible enterprises that could expand local economic opportunities. By linking farming with entrepreneurship, the community can build stronger livelihoods and foster sustainable growth.

The CBAM team formally introduced their extension project plans, outlining how the initiatives would directly benefit the community. The proposed programs focused on enhancing agricultural productivity, strengthening entrepreneurial capacity, and promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities. Barangay leaders expressed their support and shared recommendations to align the project with the unique needs and aspirations of Tubig Basag.

Through this engagement, CBAM reaffirmed its commitment to empowering communities by advancing responsive and sustainable extension initiatives. This effort is firmly aligned with the college’s vision of creating meaningful impact across Tawi-Tawi—transforming challenges into opportunities and fostering partnerships that uplift lives.
