All duly accredited and recognized student organizations of the University—including the Supreme Student Council (SSC), KAWASA, College Student Organizations, Department Organizations, Clubs, Semi-Academic Organizations, Fraternities and Sororities, Religious Organizations, Sectarian and Non-Sectarian Organizations, and all other existing student organizations—are hereby informed that the renewal and application for accreditation for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027 is now open.

Student organizations intending to renew their accreditation, as well as those applying for new accreditation, are required to comply with the prescribed requirements within the designated application period.

𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗧𝗖𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽

The Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO), through the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Alcyn R. Bakkang, and the Director for Student Relations, Asst. Prof. Mohammadsharif I. Abdulhamid, attended the 30th National Conference and Training Workshop hosted by the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services, Inc. (PAPSAS) from April 28–30, 2026 at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.

The conference covered significant topics relevant to Student Affairs and Services (SAS) in the Philippines, including: building a holistic quality framework for student affairs in higher education; developing future-ready SAS quality frameworks in the digital age; SAS 101: foundations and essentials of Student Affairs and Services; and student discipline in higher education—balancing accountability and development.

The event was attended by more than 400 higher education institutions and SAS practitioners from across the country. During the conference, MSU-TCTO officially became a member of PAPSAS, opening opportunities for the university’s SAS personnel to be recognized as SAS specialists nationwide. The university was also encouraged to participate in the upcoming 20th Asia Pacific Student Services Association (APSSA) International Conference to be held in Hong Kong.

Moreover, participants were given the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with Dir. Corrina Frances O. Cabanilla, CESO III, of the Office of Student Development and Services, Commission on Higher Education (CHED), where questions, clarifications, and important information were meaningfully addressed.

The conference also featured an awarding ceremony recognizing PAPSAS members and SAS practitioners who have actively and dedicatedly contributed to the organization. Officers of the organization, headed by its President, Prof. Dr. Renelyn B. Salcedo, were likewise recognized for their leadership and service.

Congratulations to PAPSAS for the successful conduct of this meaningful conference.

The MSU-TCTO delegation extends its sincere gratitude to University Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, Ph.D., for her all-out support and for allowing the team to attend this conference in pursuit of strengthening Student Affairs and Services and enhancing student development and welfare in the university.

𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗧𝗖𝗧𝗢 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿!

The Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography successfully conducted a Leadership Seminar for the Supreme Student Council Officers and Kawasa on April 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Fisheries Training Center, Dormitel, MSU-TCTO, Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

The activity aimed to strengthen student leadership capacities anchored on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. It also sought to equip student leaders with practical skills in governance, decision-making, and servant leadership, and to promote a culture of integrity, service, and community engagement among student organizations.

The program commenced with an opening message delivered by Director Mohammadsharif I. Abdulhamid, who emphasized the significance of leadership development among students and expressed appreciation to the invited resource speaker.

The lecture proper was delivered by Atty. Rashid Vedra Pandi, who comprehensively discussed the theme “Leadership Between the Lines.” He highlighted the importance of understanding diverse perspectives before arriving at sound decisions and solutions in leadership practice.

An open forum followed, providing student leaders the opportunity to raise questions, share insights, and express concerns related to student leadership. The resource speaker responded to the queries with clarity and depth, further enriching the participants’ understanding of effective leadership.

The program concluded with a photo opportunity and the singing of the University Hymn, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to service, unity, and the advancement of the studentry and the university.
