BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar — The College of Science of Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) held its Recognition Day on April 30, 2026, at the Student Pavilion, honoring academic and special awardees for the 2nd Semester of Academic Year 2024–2025 and the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.

The ceremony brought together faculty members, student awardees, and proud parents in a warm and intimate gathering that highlighted not only academic success but also the strong sense of community within the college. Held at the college level, the event created a more personal space for celebrating achievements, one that allowed each recognition to feel meaningful and close to home.

Serving as the invited speaker, Vicky Mae C. Gavilan, Environmental Management Specialist from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Borongan City, delivered an inspiring message centered on three guiding principles for success: setting clear goals, loving one’s work, and building good character. Drawing from her professional journey, she encouraged students to remain focused on their aspirations, find purpose in what they do, and uphold integrity in all aspects of life.

“Success is not only measured by achievements, but by the values you carry along the way,” she emphasized, reminding students that character and passion are as vital as competence in shaping a meaningful career.

The Recognition Day underscored the College of Science’s continuing commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. Beyond celebrating student accomplishments, the event also acknowledged the dedication of faculty members and the unwavering support of families who play a crucial role in every student’s journey.

As the program concluded, the atmosphere was filled with pride, gratitude, and renewed motivation, reflecting a shared commitment to uphold excellence, pursue purpose, and serve the community.

The College of Science of Eastern Samar State University proudly announces the Dean’s Listers for the 2nd Semester, SY 2025–2026 and 1st Semester, SY 2024–2025, as well as the Special Awardees for SY 2026.

In celebration of their outstanding academic achievements, the Recognition Rites will be held on April 30, 2026, at 7:30 AM at the Students’ Pavilion, ESSU Main Campus. All awardees are requested to arrive before 7:30 AM.

We are also honored to have Ms. Vicky Mae C. Gavilan, an Environmental Management Specialist at the Borongan City ENRO and a proud alumna of the BS Environmental Science program, as our guest speaker for this special occasion.

Awardees may be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Please be guided accordingly.

As part of this meaningful celebration, we invite all ESSUdyantes to visit the booths at the Science Fair, located in front of the Science Complex, featuring exhibits prepared by College of Science students.
