Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) Main Campus in Borongan once again demonstrated academic excellence after producing a national topnotcher and a strong roster of newly licensed professional teachers in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), based on the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Leading the university’s remarkable achievement is ESSU graduate Ms. Mariane Lochim, who secured 5th place nationwide with an outstanding rating of 93.80%, bringing pride and honor to the institution and the entire province of Eastern Samar.

ESSU Main Campus likewise posted commendable performances in both levels of the licensure examination. In the Elementary level, the university achieved a 74.47% passing rate, with 35 out of 47 examinees successfully passing the board examination. Meanwhile, in the Secondary level, ESSU recorded an impressive 80.00% passing rate, producing 60 newly licensed teachers out of 75 examinees.

In addition, the ESSU Borongan College of Education (COED) surpassed the national passing rates in both programs:

• 91.8% First-Time Takers Passing Rate
• 80.0% Overall Performance
• Above the 73.1% National Passing Rate

📗 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐃
• 96.88% First-Time Takers Passing Rate
• 74.47% Overall Performance
• Above the 56.03% National Passing Rate

The university’s achievement comes amid the historic nationwide performance of the March 2026 LET, which recorded the highest passing rate in history at 67.17%, with 63,377 passers out of 94,357 examinees nationwide.

This milestone reflects the unwavering commitment of ESSU Main Campus to quality education, academic excellence, and the continuous production of competent and globally competitive educators. The success of the university’s graduates also stands as a testament to their perseverance, dedication, and passion for the teaching profession, as well as the steadfast support and guidance of the faculty, staff, families, and administrators behind their journey.
