The Guimaras State University (GSU) community formally welcomed Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreรฑo on her reappointment for a second term as University President during the flag ceremony held on June 8, 2026, at the University Grounds, Salvador Campus.

The announcement was formally conveyed during the ceremony by Mrs. Janet R. Aleman, University/Board Secretary V, who informed the university community of the Board of Regents' decision reappointing Dr. Parreรฑo for another term of leadership.

Faculty members, non-teaching personnel, students, and university officials gathered for the occasion, expressing their support and confidence in Dr. Parreรฑo as she begins another term at the helm of the institution.

The welcome followed her oath-taking ceremony on June 2, 2026, where she formally assumed office before Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education, Dr. Michelle Aguilar Ong, and members of the Board of Regents.

Notably, Dr. Parreรฑo formally took her oath of office on the 365th day of leadership of Dr. Agrupis as Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education, a meaningful occasion that coincided with the first anniversary of Dr. Agrupis' stewardship of the country's higher education sector.

Dr. Parreรฑo's reappointment came after a comprehensive evaluation of her performance and leadership as University President. Following careful deliberation, the Board of Regents once again vested in her the responsibility of steering the institution, reflecting its confidence in her vision, administrative stewardship, and commitment to the University's continuing advancement.

The ceremony concluded with expressions of support from the university community, marking the beginning of Dr. Parreรฑo's second term and reaffirming the institution's shared commitment to growth, service, and academic distinction.
