According to John F Kennedy "Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future"

In line with the 30th National Children's Month Celebration, on November 25, 2022, at about 6:00 in the evening at the Municipality of Veruela. The ASSCAT Saliao Dance Troupe was invited to perform 4 dances and it is composed of opening salvo, folkdance, indigenous dance, and modern dance. A photo opportunity was held in the front of Veruela gymnasium together with Socio-cultural and the Arts headed by Mr. Ferdi Dumalagan and with his staff Mr. Carlito Esteba.

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! ✨

ASSCAT Saliao Dance Troupe was named the Philippines' Outstanding Dance Group of the Year during the 2022 Dangal ng Lahi Awards. The recognition was given on the 27th day of October 2022 at The Garden Pavilion Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City, Philippines.

Saliao Dance Troupe is the official dance group of Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology. The word "Saliao" came from the native bell which means "to gather people". It is a multi-awarded dance company composed of talented and versatile dancers. The group have won various dance competitions and a recipient of hundreds of awards, prizes, and recognition inside and outside the region.

During the awarding ceremony, the group performed "Kinang Pilipinas" which symbolizes the different movements from the country's treasured folk, cultural and tribal dances.

A huge thanks to the people behind this recognition. We were so honoured to receive this award! 🤍
